I’m gonna be using this head this year and was wanting to see some blood trails and hunting stories from those that use them. I searched but didn’t find anything. Thanks

Shot one of my Black Bears with a Zwickey Detla four blade in New Brunswick Canada. The bear was shot with a 65# Dick Robertson Montana Falcon recurve, a 650gr tapered maple arrow with 5 1/2" banana fletching. Shot was approx 20 yards and the arrow was a pass through and went another couple yards beyond the bear and stuck in the ground. The bear ran 50 yards and went down and did a death moan. As far as a blood trail there was very little properly because the bear didn't go to far. On inspection I double lunged him.

BOHO, If you would of ask about Zwickey Delta 2 blade broadheads I would of had more stories and pictures. I mostly bow hunt with 2 blade broadheads.

They make a nice big hole in a deer.

Killed a nice Yukon moose with a 4-blade Delta, as well as a couple of black bear, and elk or two and quite a few white tails. Though I've also used a few other heads recently, the 4-blade Delta is still my favorite.

Good broadheads moved on to 3 blades lately.

My new favorite catch phrase about broadheads, "they work like you think they should work". Lol.

My only issue with the 4 blade is you can't remove the "bleeder" blades which makes it more difficult to use a file on them but that also makes them more durable too. They won't (shouldn't) break off inside an animal.

I was given some 4 blades and just ground off the "bleeder" blades. How I roll.

Delta 2 and 4 blades work for my bowhunting buddy of 57 years and I, we've tracked a lot of animals together with good blood trails.

How does a guy sharpen the delta 4s though? I’m struggling

If you’re talking about the bleeder, adjust your file angle to miss the bleeder. I like to finish with a jewel stick because you can angle away from the bleeder same as the file. Or, some like to file a few thousandths off the top of the bleeder and resharpen the bleeder.

I put it in a vise and then sharpen with a triangular file, for more clearance. I like to first get a low angle on the blade with a medium triangular crosscut file until I get a sharp serrated edge, then touch it up lightly with a medium bastard triangular file. really cuts on contact. Use the bastard to sharpen the bleeder. The vice helps allot. Strop with a piece of leather. Kills elk very well.

I don’t have blood trail pics but they are no issue at all. Good luck with em. Are they available again?

I have killed killed 4 deer with 4bl Delta 2 with 4bl eskalite, Good blood trails. 5 dead in sight. Very happy with them. good penetration and arrow flight. Best way to sharpen bleeder blades is with small file sold by Raptor Archery.

Not available anywhere that’s have found. I called zwickey in the summer and she said they would be back on the shelves by September. Not.
