Ok we've had a lot of discussion about the best, the worst, the most expensive but I have a different question. I'm getting ready to head for a stand this afternoon and got to thinking about how many different heads I've actually used to kill big game with. Without going into which I like or currently use, only numbers that killed " harvested" I came up with 9 over 50 years of bowhunting. Just curious how many others have used.

Let me see....since 1973 I have used Bear Razorheads, Magnus, Ace, Ribtek, Grizzly, Woodsman, Snuffer and every model Zwickey makes except the Cliff. I also used a couple different makes of replaceable blade broadheads...maybe Rocky Mountain and satellite?

2.5? 11 90s blue razorheads, 11 eskimos, and 17 magnus classics (eskimo clones). Not counting the 1 from each set I practice with. Don't know why I would need anything else.

Hmmm. Many years ago, Black Copperhead 4-blade, maybe a bodkin or two, and a couple of different replaceable blade heads (which didn't work that well. Some of the blades usually broke off.) In the last 30-40 years or so, mostly Zwickey 2- and 4-blade deltas. More recently have added STOS, Abowyer and Woodsman heads to the arsenal. Killed lots of deer, several elk and black bear, one moose and a lot of turkeys with these heads.

Sheepishly, Richie responds with...mostly compound kills. Slick Trick original 125s, and one NAP mechanical. I think they call it the shockwave now. As of my return to traditional, I am shooting only Tusker Spirits in 125 double bevel spin on format.

I have used the Rothar original 3 blade, but it doesn't count because it never got any lung mileage. Then the griz, and several others that are basically identical. It does raise the question of whether the different heads were different. Griz, Zwickey, Simmons, and now Ribtec how different are we actually talking?

All have been with original Wensel woodsmans. Except one with a ACE and one with a Grizzly and one with a STOS. Really hoping to get one with a Zwickey No Mercy this year too. I have arrows made up with WW’s and ace and zwickey so will depend on what arrows I take and might even use them all through out the year.

My first was a super hilbre cause thats what came with the bow and having just turned 13 and knowing no one who bowhunted I was clueless. Since then I've tried a few over 56 years such as pearson deadheads, zwicky deltas, grizzlys, bear razorheads, snuffers, ace 160 standards, and abowyer wapiti for 1 deer n I think thats it. I used the snuffers ever since for bears and turkeys and ace 160 for everything else for most of my bowhunting time. I bought some Hills to add to the few I had to try this year. Ever once in a while I get the urge to try something new.

11 that I can recall, but there was likely 1 or two more.
You know, they all ended up the same.. dead!
I will say that the BigJim by VPA (1 1/2" diameter 3 blade) on turkeys has impressed me more than any other kills I have made. 8 birds with one and have only had 1 bird go more than 20 yards!

I've killed most deer with Bear Razorheads, but also have used Savora Super-S for a couple years in the late 70's. One on a Howard Hill head, and have used Hi-Precision, MA-3, and Ribtek. But mostly the old greenies are on my arrows. The world never seems to run out of them thanks to Fred's old Razorhead Machine popping them out every five seconds. :)
