Is there any rule of thumb about how thick the bamboo backing should be for a 45$-50$ IPE bo

I always flatten the bamboo, lay out and cut my bow profile on the flattened belly side, then thin it to about a 1/16" on the sides. Once that's done you can glue it to the ipe slat, and the use the bamboo as the pattern to cut the ipe once it's dry.

Thanks for the advice.

I liked Clay's video with the extra step of tillering the bamboo BEFORE gluing it
