Anyone use a spypoint cell link device that hooks to any trail camera? This is new to me but I wanted to use one on a new lease I have in Iowa

Used one all last year hooked to my cuddelink home unit with 4 cameras sending images. Picked up the external antennae and power supply, no issues all season. No battery change required.

So if you have 4 cameras you don’t need 4 units? What’s a home unit?

cuddelink has a home unit that will collect images from up to 16 cuddelink cameras. They send data from unit to unit without the need for cell service, sort of like bluetooth, good for about 400 yards in woods. So with one cell plan with spypoint cell link I can have my cuddelinks send pictures to me.

My buddy didn't have any luck with them, he fought with spypoint for a week and said screw it,but that's just his experience, they may work fine. I have problems with my spypoint transmitting sometimes with a 1 or 2 bar place. replacing the batteries usually fixes it.

We have 2. 1 per camera, 2 storage plans. In other words, you will need a storage plan for each individual setup. However the apps for your phone or I pad will accept multiple camera setups. I know a bud in Iowa that has 6 setups to watch his 20 acres or so in Iowa. Again he uses his for all critters and other folks trespassing. One set up we used as a part time security camera while on vacation.

They are finicky, cumbersome and at times frustrating. Squirrels at some point will bite your transmission ribbon do protect it. Buy an extra ribbon-$12 to have on hand if you dont protect it.

Run camera in low res- according to directions, some folks use high res. Only Run lithiums in the cell link- no rechargables. Camera and link are mounted next to each other.

The photo storage plans start with the most basic free plan with 100/pics a month. 4 plans total leading up to unlimited pics per $15 /month. You can change plans up or down anytime but it starts at the following month. We start with a mid plan $10 for like 1000 pics for a month, then upgrade closer to season. A nice plus is that after Feb or so you can just stop paying for the top plan and go back to a free plan.

You will be surprised at how fast you blow through pics. We use our 2 setups to watch for people trespassing or other critters like coyotes.

Once adept at using these they do exactly as advertised. Maybe not the greatest system but very inexpensive they work with cameras you already own. They are fun to use. It takes about 1 minute after trigger to get my pics from our camera 15 miles away. Some states are discussing their use during hunting season, and like anything, they can be abused. But the cameras dont kill deer. IMHO crossbows are more detrimental to hunting than cameras.

Feel free to pm any questions, I should be at ETAR thursday eve. Look for my camp banner from the ETAR roll call thread.

I am going to try this next season. It seems to me it would add a new dimension to hunting my wife and kids could enjoy. And that's exactly how I am going to try and sell it.

babysaph open the app and click on the photo button on bottom. You can also have the app on other items. I get pics on my Ipad as well as my cell.

On my friends property, his son has some kind of service for his cameras. He lives a few hours north of there. While my friend and I were putting up blinds for youth firearm season a week ago, he sent us a text with a pic of me driving by a camera on a quad runner. Two days ago Saturday morning, while my grandson and I were taking a hauling a doe out he had shot, he sent a pic of another doe next to the blind we had just left.
