Anybody have luck bending White Ash with dry heat? I cant use steam for this project and wondered if dry would work.

Works just fine. Get it hot enough you cant touch it, but not hot enough to burn it.

Thanks PEARL DRUMS. I have a short Penobscot back bow that I steam bent but did not have the clearance I needed. I attached Antler limb tips and now cant steam .Thanks again

Over correct by about 20-30%, it will spring back a bit.

I built several snow shoe chairs with Ash, but I built plywood forms and ripped the Ash into thin strips and laminated them together against the forms, using Titebond 3 glue. Worked perfectly. Hollow, white nylon rope was stretched tightly for the seats and back and given a coat of Minwax oil based poly, making the rope appear exactly like rawhide. Great project if you have the tools. Richard
