Project X made it way to the edge of East Texas today. As I was coming home from work, the mail lady pulled in behind me. Talk about PERFECT timing. She laughed at my excited nature about the long package she pulled form the car. "men and their toys." Yip. :-D I hope Jeff weighs in here behind me, but this bow is something quite unique. All the quality you would expect from a Freeman longbow, BUT a new feel to the grip, and a different feel to the cast. I will post some pictures, but it's fair to say this is one beautiful honeymoon. The shots are not perfect, but for the first few arrows I would say it's a great handling bow. Mind you the draw weight is 38# @ my 27" draw so considerably lighter than my other Freeman, but super impressed. 62" Deflex design with foam core, and a pleasure to shoot.

This shot is at 25 ish yards and that is a 604 grain wood arrow that spined 39#. Jeff had sent that arrow with a dual shelf Polar I have that he refinished.

30 yards same arrow. I know this may be a touch low, but I always focus on the point of the elbow and tend to hit a couple inches high. Not this time.

Here is a 600 GoldTip Classic cut 29" with 125 tip. It seems to like this arrow the most and again 30 yards.

Things were going to good not to take a walk, so I went to the back of my property and sat on a hog trail to see if there were any customers today. Sadly there were not, but me and Project X will keep checking as work allows. Jeff, this bow may need to become one of your offerings. Thank you for the opportunity to handle such a wonderful bow.

I may get it wrong, but I believe Jeff told me the Handle is Osage, and I believe there is a Stripe of maybe hardrock maple? The core is the project part. I believe that is a foam core with a carbon back and glass belly. Jeff is, at the very basic an artist, but with this bow I think a bit of a scientist. Meeting those new materials head on. Jeff, if I am incorrect about any of the combination please correct me.

So you got the Project X. Lucky dog! I had forgotten where it was suppose to go. The bow is a shooter and I found the limb to have a very interesting bend strung up.

Its not carbon in the limbs its stabil-kore. I'm not sure either if JF has a supplier for the foam so that may be a one off. I was getting it from Belcher I can't seem to find it any where else.

It is truly a nice bow enjoy her Dry Bones

Beautiful and deadly, like a beautiful spy. Looks like Jeff hit it out of the park with this one. I have one of his early longbows and it’s about the best I’ve ever shot! Have fun! Lance

I have no doubt the quality of that bow is top notch. My bow he built is perfect. I like the profile of X . We will have to keep up with how these bow do! : )

I have Project X on test drive mode. Not sure where the final destination is. I hope back to Jeff to spill some blood this season. I completely agree with the limb profile I really like it, and as much as I like my current longbow from Jeff, I may have to consider a second. Today was another good day. No new pics, but then again, it would only replicate that of yesterday. Toddy, thank you for the correction on the materials. I wasn't sure what it was on the back, but I knew it was not the same black glass that is on the belly.

Glad you like shooting it Cody. Keep putting arrows through it. Gotta see how long it will take it. Shoot as long as you want. Thanks for the kind words my friends. JF

IF foam last in a recurve with more flexing, bending, I think it should last Longer with a long bows more even bending of the limbs, My thoughts.

^^ What he said. :-D I got home just before dark and sent a few arrows from a couple bows. OF Course one of them was Project X. The shot was 30 yards, and the intended target is a 3" piece of 1X2 suspended in front of the carpet stack on a piece of yarn. We shoot at those periodically for fun. Little bits of breeze move it around so it adds a little more challenge. That bow is Super Smooth.

That's pretty good Cody. I had a feeling you might like this one. It's different makes some modern materials with standard longbow material Osage maple glass. Seems to have quite a zip to it shoots right down where I was looking. JF
