I AM LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON "MATHEWS HERITAGE LONGBOW".
I believe that the Heritage bows were a special, limited edition, available by special order only.
The bows may be no longer made.
Any information will be helpful.

Mathews made the longbow and a recurve about 8 years ago.I believe they bought Sky archery and used their forms. They had issues.I had a longbow shot ok but if you brushed against anything a chunk would pop off the bow.A friend had the recurve which delaminated, got a replacement which did the same thing.I think Mathews sold the forms to Jim Belcher if I remember correctly.

I remember when they came out as well. Looked nice, but priced rather high. As far as I know, they weren't special order though I suppose one could order one to his/her own specs. Tried to use the Mathews name to break into the trad market. Didn't work.

I have one, other than it is a beautiful bow I never knew much about it either. It is 45 pounds at 28" and 69" long. It has bamboo lams under clear class with just a hint of the nodes showing through. The fit, finish, and lettering are second to none. I was taken by the picture and bought it.Was just as impressed when it arrived. I really like it,though I have never seen another one. >>>>-----> Ken

Lots of reasons for things failing besides quality. Some fantastic bows are no longer made. I love mine and it hasn't failed.
hunterjrg I would be happy to take some pictures for you. Most of the time I can't get them to post here. Email is easy. If you care to go that route. Glad the Kodiak is working out for you. I am sure the Greenie will too.I shot the Diana once. It hit hard. I am looking for a scope now, don't see sights worth a flip anymore. Jon I forgot I have your email. >>>-----> Ken

I’ve always wanted to see one in person. Didn’t they use Dymond wood on the risers?

Not sure, mine is a deep dark reddish color with black grain. Always thought Rosewood but ??? It goes very well with the caramel color bamboo.>>>>-----> Ken

I shot one a little when they first came out. Pretty bow but I wasn't impressed with the performance for the price.

I'm pretty sure it was built on the Trophy Longbow forms from Sky. Jim Belcher is now building those and they're phenomenal bows.

Matt did make the longbows as special order only. He also had custom cedar arrows made for the bows and a display rack. He made them off the Sky Archery forms, and then ended up selling the forms to Jim Belcher. As far as I know, Matt never made a recurve under the Mathew's name. I used to hunt with Matt and the Mathew's boys a lot.

The Sky Trophy by Earl Hoyt was and still is a great bow. I've not shot Jim Belcher's version, but Earl's was top notch in the shooting characteristics. Folks may have been turned off by the Actionwood riser and limbs. Never shot one of Matt's bows.

My Heritage is listed in the classified section. The bow is 63 inches, 50 lbs. draw weight, right handed, clean and straight, no holes, no twists, original condition with finish intact.

Just become an owner of a Mathews Heritage Eagle, serial 0096. I’m presuming all the previous info applies to the Heritage range but I’m keen for any info or history people have.

Loved my Sky Trophy longbow, it was great. Sold it after a surgery because it was to much draw weight later on, wish I could find one around forty or forty five pounds now.

Only saw one some years ago. A compound shooting friend bought one. I wasn't impressed with the build quality or the performance. Don't think I've seen another one since.
