On fb someone was asking for name of co. Thats reproducing Fred Bear camo. Does anyone know anything about this?

I saw that, too. It was mentioned to check fleabay for "Fred Bear Camo", although the sweater he wore in that pic was the old Fratzke (sp?) camo.

What's Fred Bear camo? Are you talking about the WWII stuff he wore at times?

The WW11 camo is what I would call “Fred Bear” Camo. It was pretty much all we had in that day. It was even used in the Bay of Pigs invasion, bought from sporting goods stores for the invasion force. This stuff we see now days I swear was designed by some fashion designer.

My dad had tons of WWII camo. As well as some that came after.

Kuiu makes a camo that's similar, but in my opinion better. And my opinion of camo is it doesn't matter, because movement kills you way before good or bad camo.

"Asking too much"?! Asking is just asking. It's up to the potential buyer if they want to pay it or not. No one is holding a gun to their heads! (are you? Kidding.) Geez

Too much, they should look at the prices that WW11 Impressions gets for their camo. Try $150 for a jacket another $150 for the trousers. One reason I don’t have a set.

Yup, back when 'Trebark' was still new, you had 'WWII' and 'Tiger Stripe' and a few other surplus imported patterns. I had a particularly ugly WW2 Italian jacket, but the deer didn't mind it's looks ;-)

Some real Fred Bear camo.

I have a raincoat I still wear in that style camo and I've had it since the 1970's. I don't wear it alot, mostly around the home area when it's raining but pretty impressive to live that long with a working front zipper. I do have my Fratzke sweater too that I bought in 1978.

I had quite a bit of the WWII pattern camo. But, too many washings faded it almost white. My WWII Jones style hat blew off my head and sunk back in the 80's on Sowden Lake, Ont. It's all gone now.

You guys got me looking at vintage camo on the net. Ended up buying this preowned Carhart vest.

Bear offers that camo pattern on their new Bear Mag recurve riser and compound bows.

From: Boker

I wish camo clothing manufacturers would bring more vintage patterns back

Over and under offers a limited selection but it’s expensive
