Vs 24 Bloodline Brave.

Which do you prefer?

Phil, I have used both, and like both, but I get a little better performance from the Bloodline.

However, the MercuryII is very user friendly for doing flemish.

The Bloodline (due to the very slick coating) is difficult to do flemish with. I don't recommend it for that, unless you have a lot of patience.

So if it’s fiddly and demands patience…. Hmmmm….. For those of us who buy our strings made to order, it sounds like the cost is going to increase a lot more than the performance…. I’m still trying to twist up a good Dacron string for my old Hunter. :)

I have some Mercury 2, I haven’t made a string for it yet. I’d like to

Thanks Rick. Is Bloodline your favorite string material?

At a glance I am sure 10 strands will do like Rhino did. I'll see on performance. One plus is I don't have count as high.

I am still doing bare strands on the loop for a Bear

You're welcome Phil, and yes it is.

It's tricky to work with when building flemish strings, but since I only build strings for myself these days, and no more often than I need a string, it's worth the effort for the quality of string it yields.

If I were using it to build for the market, I would only build endless loop.

Just keep it in your trunk in case you need to get your car pulled out of a ditch!!

Rick, just curious did you try waxing the bloodline bundles before twisting it up?

Of course.

But, that coating is some very VERY slick stuff.

I absolutely must remove the coating from the splice/loop portion of the strands before the waxing, or the wax will not stick, and my splices will slip.

I remove the coating with acetone, then "HOT" wax, so that the wax really gets down into the fiber.

Even then, I have to be careful to not transfer coating from the main body back onto the splice area during twist up.

When I'm done, I have a string that only has the coating in the main body area.

Very similar now.

After serving m2 is a wee whisker thicker.

I thought that first one looked awful fat for 12 strands of M2.

Results are in. Bloodline is faster, feels better and I think quieter for endless.

New Bear test limbs just in. Bare strands loops Bloodline Brave 99. 4fps faster than M2.

If I went back to Flemish I would choose M2.
