This Thread is for Batman. So please be generous with the pictures. My favorite bow fishing point has to be the sting a ree. Just because with a little twist you could collapse the barbs for easy fish removal. Pretty sweet when the action is hot and furious in the Spring time. Here’s a picture of one barbs open.

I also use the sting a ree. I had the cheapo pictured there 50 some years ago and it pulled out of a carp. Switched to sting a ree.

Im with you, Don! Sting a Ree is my absolute favorite. I’ve killed thousands with them. Everything from suckers in the creek to stingrays in The Gulf of Mexico.

I figured either Rick or Rooty would be along with the Hill version. I wouldn’t want to abuse that one on a rocky riverbed, but for hard fish and soft mud, that’s gotta be the ticket….

Sting-A-Ree for me as well. My friend group and I, used the "cheap carp point" for years, but we used to lose a significant amount more fish until we switched to Sting-A-Ree. Then again, most of the carp we shoot are 10-25 pounds. For whatever that's worth..

Are the STING-A-REE points a case of INSTALL-YOUR-OWN? I was wondering about the possibility of accidentally damaging the very tip and section 2 ?? Whatta Y'ALL do then? Gotta remember that EYES DUMB and doan gets out much? BTW? Anybody STILL use any kind of fletching on those shafts? Seems like the rubber fletching went out of style??? MERCY BOW COUP!

The line keeps the arrow flying straight for me. My dad had one of those shafts with the rubber fletch that you are talking about. I don't do much bowfishing anymore.

We used stingarees back in the 80s and 90s. We mostly fished rocky bottom creeks and shoals for suckered. We broke/bent enough that we had to go back to the low tech cheap points. For deeper water or muddy bottom the stingrays would have been great.

Use(d) Sting A Rees too, found them heavy and pricey. Most of the time use the cheaper chisel points and like Ragnall dealt with rocky bottoms. I carry a file to touch them up as necessary.

Used a point made by a young guy in Wisconsin, think it was "Sure Shot"? Long time ago, I was even a young guy back then! I later went to the "Sting-A-Ree. They had a lot of material up front, so I could keep filing to a sharp point.
