I finally figured out how to get the unmodifed version of Stu Millers latest calculator version to work interactively on a webpage.

You can click on the calculator button found on my home page here:

https://xma.dry.mybluehost.me/homepage/index.html

Or, you can go directly to the calculator here:

https://xma.dry.mybluehost.me/homepage/dynamic_spine_calculator_2024.html

Just copy, and paste the links into your browser address bar.

Have Fun !

Sometime in the fall (probably September) these links will change.

I will post a followup with the new links when they do.

Here's a better direct link (for now).

By the way.

I am working to streamline the calculator page some.

Specifically trying to get rid of all the unnecessary scrolling space.

It may act a little wonky for a while, but the calculator itself will work just fine.

Can you update the shaft and bow selection?

[[[ "Can you update the shaft and bow selection?" ]]]

I could if I knew how, but that type of editing is beyond my knowledge (for now).

I'll tell ya this though - you supply me with the info you want added to it, and I'll figure out how to get it in there.

I never use the generic values anyway. I measure all aspects of both the bow, and the arrow, and manually enter the specs.

How do you differentiate between the high-performance limbs and the run-of-the-mill limbs?

Phil, until I can figure out out to enter data for them, you can't.

I pretty much just fly by the seat of my pants on them, and use a rule of thumb of 15# higher draw weight than what the bow actually is.

On my BWC MOACs, once tuned, and tested, I had to use a +20# on the draw weight, and a PFF of -13 to get fairly close for a match on the calculator.

In other words - the calculator just isn't built around working for any of these now super recurves.

Thanks Rick. It always seemed to me it wasn’t built for any of the higher performing limbs and I had to make allowances like you did.

Thank you Rick.

Thanks Rick, always liked that calculator as it has my Wallace recurve in it. But, every calculator says I need a 340 spine with 180 - 200 points. Bare shaft for me is a 400 spine with 175 up front. The shelf wear shows I am too stiff, but the bare shaft shows slight weak to perfect. I can get a 340 to fly good with 250 up front. It makes my hair fall out, but a good calculator.

You're welcome fellers, and thank you.

I know the calculator has some drawbacks/limits, but it's still a handy tool to have in your box.

Just finished editing the webpage for it a few minutes ago, and have it all loaded up, and functioning as well as it's limits allow.

If you are new to using it, I strongly recommend reading the instructions, A link to those instructions is provided on the page.

I think many people struggle with the "strike plate position". Getting a measurement down to the tenth or less of an inch can be challenging.

I use "0" because I have an adjustable rest and align the right side of the arrow with the bow string when looking from behind. That works well for me.

I was surprised when you put in 60 for my 40. That arrow works as a base line.

A little more editing of the page to add a calculator, and instructions for determining static spine of shafts.
