Anyone got the new Bear Montana with phenolic riser and bamboo limbs. Ive got lots of customs but this bow intrigues me for some reason. Love to hear people’s thoughts on it. Thanks

I looked it up Montana are a nice bow I like the Bamboo limbs just not crazy about phenolic ~ if they’d use a 2x2 14” piece of rosewood it be one very sweet looker ~ just my 2 cents

If you're looking for a wood riser and a contoured grip, check out Montana's big brother, the Ausable. Bamboo and maple limb cores and bubinga riser. It shoots fast and hits hard.

I like the new Montana too. It looks like they made the changes that were needed. For a hunting and 3D mild R/D longbow it’s all I would ever need. Too bad Bear doesn’t make a phenolic and bamboo Grizzly recurve.

Bear has offered a new longbow that lists for $500 in 2024. You would have paid $500 for the same materials in a 64” mild R/D longbow from a small builder 15 years ago. I think Bear did well on this one.
