Well, I ordered a new 35 lb Kota Kill-um. Hoping these lower weights keep me shooting. I really like my 37 lb Sierra Blanca RMR but I love the light weight one piece that Tim makes. I have a 40 lb Kill-um so it may go once I get the new one in 8 months.

I have a 42 lb. Kill-um. It fights with my Kanati for attention!

I’ve got a 45# one I wrapped with beavertail . It’s a bit heavy for me but I can handle it and have a close friend that wants to buy it when my name comes up on the Howatt list for a new Conviction model.

In the above picture I redid the strike plate to run the pattern from the beaver tail the same direction as the grip later. When I got it last April it was missing the label Tim puts on the bows and I’ve emailed him several times about getting one and willing to pay for it but haven’t got any response back . Even called but I’m sure he’s busy and may not want to be bothered with something so little as this so I’ll have to live with it .

Keefers nicely done. What do you mean by a label? Those are nice 50s curves

Maybe the medallion is missing?

One of my favorite bows. I think the Osage/cocobolo kill um I had was one of the most beautiful bows I've had. Incredible workmanship, well mannered to shot

the thought of ordering a kota prairie nomad crossed my mind.

enjoy your new bow. look forward to seeing the photos when it arrives, later this year.

Mitch it’s an oval shaped stick on label not a medallion from what I’ve seen on someone else’s bow . At first I thought previous owner had a clicker on it then someone posted a Kota Kill um of theirs and it had the exact same oval shape in the same area so I asked him about it through a pm and then I contacted Tim and spoke to a lady . Tim responded to me in an email saying he couldn’t understand as to “Why” someone would remove it But someone did . I just want to cover it with one If I could purchase it but I’ve sent my address several times to Tim without anymore reply’s back to me . I tried to cut a wrap to put on I That area just to protect it but it’s on the glass and looked tacky so right now there’s nothing on it . Just an oval spot where the label was . Wished it had a coin type medallion but not that I’m aware of .

The older Kill-ums didn't have that sticker, if I remember right. Does yours not have this medallion?

If you look really close in this picture you can see what I am talking about on the limb . The sticker that previous owner removed for some reason and never mentioned it to me when I bought it from him from here but I’m ok with it just wished it was mentioned then. I then asked someone who had posted me a picture of theirs and sure enough there was an oval label / sticker not sure what it’s made of cause I don’t have one but it appeared to be a label of some sort. Rather have had a medallion but maybe Tim does put them on his higher end bows? I’m not sure cause this is my first Kota I’ve ever had or seen .

Jeff, Forgot to mention I got this bow about this time last year and the fella I bought it from did tell me it was only a few months old so I’m pretty sure it’s a newer version and other then that sticker/ label it does appear to of been a new. Just don’t remove the sticker/ label if one comes on them and like Tim said in my email “Why” would someone remove it ? As I previous said I thought that mark or oval shape was a clicker or one those limb saver gizmos was attached but after seeing a Kota with an oval label and the emails with Tim I now am sure it was a label.

Maybe this is better for those with bad eyes .If someone here sees this and has a Kota Kill um with a stick on label could you please show it ?

I hope to get mine soon. Ordered in Mid June 2023. Tim called me in Mid Feb saying he was a bit behind due to a bout with Covid, but was starting mine at that time. May have to bug him in a couple days and check status. I'm sure he's busy. I'll try to post some pictures when I have it.

Greg if you do get it can you show a picture of that label please? I know a guy that might be able to make me one to cover that spot on my limb if you don’t mind. Keefers

Will do, hopefully it arrives soon. I sure it was delayed a little longer since it took me a while to gather up the remaining funds to pay for what I owed them.

Ok I finally found the phone that was sent to me and here is the label that covers the limb .If you look very closely you can see it is the same oval shape as where one was on my bow. I am the second owner cause I was told it was only a few months old when I bought it off the previous owner last year about this same time .

Darn fat fingers I meant to say Photo lol. Anyway I would have actually liked a medallion and just to let folks know who may get one it’s best you just leave the sticker/ label on the limb. I thought the previous owner had a clicker or a limb saver thing on and the residue of a clear adhesive was left on . I put a head lamp on and 6 power glasses and come to find out the finish was perfectly peeled when he pulled off the label .So now I have a very shiny clear oval spot on my limb . All in all the Kota is a very nice bow and I like it . Only thing I did was make my own string and I put a beavertail grip on myself. Really feels nice on the Kota.

Guys Ive also been trying to get hold of Kota just to ask if the used Kota Killum I now own is FF ok. Cant get any response either direct phone call or e mail. Fine bow but sure would like to know more?

I have called Tim twice in the last 2 weeks and was able to talk with him on the phone both times. I always call him in the evening.

I e-mailed Tim last week, my Killem is nearly done, he hopes to ship it this week if all goes as planned.

From: Bucksnort101

Well the Killem came yesterday. Was impressed with how smooth and quiet this bow is. Just grabbed the same arrows that are tuned to my other 2 bows and they fly just as good out of this bow without making any adjustment at all. I'll probably bare shaft test when the it stops raining though.

I'll try to get pictures of the sticker and post them over the weekend.

By the way, the new bows do not have the medallion in the riser, at least mine didn't.

From: Bucksnort101
Date: 26-Apr-24

Forgot to add, the sticker that came on my bows differs from the one in Keefers picture. Still oval in shape but is not a clear sticker. I'll get a pic of it poster when I get a chance.
