What are your thoughts and experiences with Rod Jenkins tabs?

Great tabs that are way over priced, Bateman just as good IMO.

I have one and it’s a great tab.

They are great tabs but expensive. I purchased a bunch of used Jenkin's tabs off the classifieds a few years ago. Still using them. Going to start making my own tabs.

The Jenkins tab is a fantastic tab, I have one that has thousands of shots through it. It’s a couple years old so I don’t know the current price.

I like my Bateman’s, but my Safari Tuff fits me and my style of 3under better. For me it is worth the extra money!

Actually, I was just going to do a shout out to Rod about the tab. I bought it last year and it was different enough from my other tabs that I wasn’t sure about how well it would work for me.

Then I took it to my lake place today, to do some casual shooting. I started shooting with Rod’s split finger tab and all was good- so good I just stuck with that tab all afternoon. I was getting a very clean release. I’ll get my moneys worth out of it.

Just as I have with his quiver. Mine is the Duiker, (smaller one). Great quiver.

I've been shooting one for just over a year. Previous tab was an Eichler. Different enough it took some time to get use to it. Not as handy while hunting - climbing into stands, putting hands in pockets/muff type things. I do like the stiffer "plate" as I sometimes curl my string hand when fatigued. Cordovan is good but layers are thicker, that's both good and bad. I'm shooting it as good as I did with the old one now.

The Rod Jenkins Safari Tuff is my go to tab . I only hunt . My backup is the AAE Elite corduvan tab . In all fairness to some other Tab manufacturers which are mentioned on here I have not tried them . The RJ Safari Tabs I believe are like around 55 bucks delievered I don't find that price unreasonable for what you get . Also I buy my tabs directly from R Jenkins website don't go through middle men . If I was to try other manufactures tabs I would try the Big Jim's or the Rick Barbee offerings . Just my 2cents on the subject .

They are OK and I have used them for years. Just like the Bison tab from 3 Rivers better,

Oops, I was talking about my Rick Barbee tab. I just went brain dead for a moment.

It’s all about what works for you. For me I like my Barbee tabs best

I have some of the original Death Adder tabs and love them. Just looking at other options.

Proof is in the pudding, we'll get to do side by side evaluation.

We made the Rod Jenkins tabs for many years. We use genuine shell cordovan and it's expensive but will last until you lose your tab. I have customized mine for size, but it is all I use now. $30 for split three under, $32 for split. Thanks, bigjim

Have a Big Jim Signature and Bateman Cordovan tab headed to me for testing and analysis.

I tried the split finger one and the spacer did not fit my hands it was uncomfortable between my fingers, have used Bateman for years it fits me better.

From: Wudstix Professional Bowhunters Society - Associate Member

I looked at that and will probably remove the spacer.

"Have a Big Jim Signature and Bateman Cordovan tab headed to me for testing and analysis.". Excellent please let us know your findings . Anyone know if the RJ tab n d Big JIM tabs are identical besides the RJ stamping ?

From what Big Jim stated he used to make that tab, his new one has been resized. I'll have all three in front of me, so can let you know.

RJ cordovan tabs just arrived probably won't get an serious testing done until Monady.

They are pricey , but I love mine and it wears really well so I feel the price is warranted.

I'll be doing a comparison against RJ cordovan, Big Jim Signature, and Bateman cordovan vs ballistic nylon.

From: Wudstix Professional Bowhunters Society - Associate Member
Date: 12-Apr-24

Nylon tab is ten years old and well broken in.
