Just picked up a new Baronett blind on sale. I thought it sounded like it had the bells and whistles I desired. Set it up in the garage yesterday and found out differently.

It is tall enough, and has the shoot through mesh I wanted, plus it has the tie down loops all around to make it easy to brush in.

Here's what it doesn't have, zippered or velcro window panels. They all have little elastic loops that you need to attach around little plastic buttons.

Try doing that in the dark with cold fingers, NOT.

My last blind from Barronett (growler?) is that way also. The material is so light I can't use it for Antelope because it flaps so bad and three of the stake loops pulled out the first day out.

Yup, tough to order what you want when you can't see it first hands on.

I just set mine up the way I will hunt and leave it that way. If I want something adjusted a little, I use spring binder clips to hold it where I want. I've been hunting out of my current Barronett Tag Out for 3 years now and it works great.

That's disappointing for sure.

BowAholic I like the idea of the spring binder clips for the netting, I'll be useing that idea.

Spring clips and clothes pins are what I have been using. I use them to try to make adjustments the openings. Yeah, a loop breaks and you have to figure out a mod quick.

Yeah. Mine is the same. You get used to it.

Up side is, the loops are quiet.

I use the clips because I'm still not sold on the 'shoot thru' mesh. I have practiced quite a bit shooting through the mesh and every once in a while, it messes up the shot. I won't take that chance, so I clip the mesh back and form an opening to shoot through.

Oh I'll have to make do with it, I'm sure it's cheaper for them than velcro tabs or a zipper. Doesn't make it better.

i have two big cats and I love all the room. Ive had them for more than a few years and have had no trouble with either.

My "Big Mike" has those loops. I think if the elastic loops were maybe round it would be easier to handle? It took a bit to get used to them, I don't remember what my old Big Mike used for window adjustments? I usually put out my blinds and leave for the season so usually most adjustments then.

My first hub blind is a Yukon later bought out by Barronnet, it was heavier material that really stands up to the weather. It's got to be 20 years old but still going strong, I use it when mentoring people because of it's size. Many times I've had 4 people in it, 2 youth and 2 adults.

Better than velcro

I use some Baronetts also, same loop system. It is a pain in the but in the cold or dark but is way better than noisy Velcro. I do not shoot through the mesh for a couple of reason, I don't trust shooting through it and I cannot see through it very well in low light conditions. I leave the two corner windows open and have the shoot through mesh in the two windows next to the corner ones. That seams to work pretty well for me. Remember these are $125 dollar blinds, not $300 dollar blinds, there's going to be some give and take. These cheap blinds have held up well and worked ok for me, I leave up several blinds for entire season. Some are up 3-4 months even during heavy snow.
