Hi All, I just purchased a Kwyk Styk TD bow. My first Jack Kempf. It needs a new rug rest. Im asking what you guys do about the groove he had on the inside of his shelves. Do you guys cover the groove with material or have 2 separate pieces with the groove remaining uncovered? Thank you in advance for your help.

I helped him design that. Its for feather clearance. Don't cover it. I also leave the side plate a bit higher

If I was using Velcro I would go with two pieces but I use tin goat leather so I use one pieces you can't go wrong with either

Jack recommended two pieces. When my bow came he had made a base and side plate out of seal skin. I had not shot the bow for a few years until I heard Jack had passed. In his honor I shot it on one of CD' shot's of the day. You got your self a great bow by on e of the true masters. Good luck with it. I have attached a photo. Joe
