i have a recurve signed by ed thompson it is called the shooting star. anyone heard of this bowyer? the bow has a #4447 43# @28" 5'9"
i cant find anyting on the web about the maker.

Post some pics. CustomBowCo made a model called the shooting star and were many times in that length. Ed Thompson could be the owner of the bow.

I’ve met Ed Thompson in the early 80s out of Modesto Ca., and had a “Tornado” #667, that I bought in the mid 60s. He worked for Cobra, and is sometimes associated with them. He made his first bow, and took several competitions with it. He had developed an adjustable takedown recurve, that I wish I would have gotten one, as I’ve never found one since.

I apologize. I mixed up who Ed Thompson worked for. He did however make a cobra bow. And it was my great pleasure to meet the guy, who made my bow. That’s rare. It was a “Tornado” #667, that I took on my very first deer hunt in 1968 at 12 years old. Those were the days
