You need to get a different bow, that one’s going to cost you.

Shooting at the same spot repeatedly is a choice with consequences. Spend your money how you see fit.

Arrows are expendable ammo. With that in mind I just dumped all the junk stuff I could find. You know, the ones with small cracks at the nock end that I thought I could repair. Wood arrows broken just behind the point. Made a small pile of good arrows I am going to pass along to a guy I know who will appreciate them. That said I stand by the old saying, “ lose one, break one, buy another dozen”.

After some 45 yards of archery, I had my first. I was elated. Finally joined the ranks of Robin Hood! A year or so later I did it again. I was pissed!

It costs the same at any distance! Lol! I never thought to take a pic when I did it. Doesn't hurt as much shooting woods. Good shooting all!

I have done it a few times when I shot aluminum, the first one made me feel good, the rest not so much because of the trashed arrow.
When I am at the top of my game, I don't shoot at the same place twice and often shoot only one arrow at a time and pull it when I am working on form. I hate destroying a perfectly good arrow.

So, let me get this straight: Robin Hooding an arrow gets expensive, but bouncing one off a rock or stump and having it shatter is par for the course???
Viper out.

Stuff happens for sure. The areas where I go stump shooting don’t have many rocks so I have only broken one that way so far. When target shooting I rarely shoot groups. I do pick different spots on the target to shoot at. One Robin Hood was enough… kind of cool but like others, I hate ruining perfectly good arrows.
Sometimes it hurts worse with woods. 0ne day I was shooting a POC arrow and I hit a glancing off type blow. I heard a little “snick” when it hit but didn’t think much about it. The next time I shot that arrow, upon release that arrow “blew up”. Pieces flew all over my yard. Fortunately all I got was a nasty scratch on my bow hand.

I had my share all by accident of course, but I went through my set of Howard Hill arras and that is what upset me, those were the best shooting arrows I ever had.
I have some Suzanne St Charles that need nocks that I accidently hit, I try to shoot only three arras at a time. Nocks are hard to change.
