Hey Ya'll, I just wanted to let those of you know who are planning to attend the Florida state shoot this weekend that I won't be setting up. This is the first time that I have not been able to attend a scheduled event since I have been working in the archery business...16 years. I tested positive for covid today and even though I am not experiencing symptoms as bad as my wife, I can't in good conscience risk my customers/friends health. with any lucky, it won't happen for another 16 years.. or more!

Thanks, bigjim

Thank you all for the kind words. It's crazy stuff! Neither my wife nor I had symptoms until Monday after a long night of driving.

Wed, we went to the DR's, and they didn't even test her for covid until after I tested positive.. I wish I would have gotten pictures of the shock on their faces!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I recently came down with it after just a few brief chores and nothing that I thought put me at risk. I am fully inoculated and not high risk except for age. I had a week of moderate symptoms and another 3 weeks of head congestion. My wife got it from me and was all better in 5 days. It is not a pleasant infection and its effect on me was worse than the wife, but clearly could have been worse. Thank you for your mature and respectful decision to minimize spread of a potentially bad infection.

I feel for you, hope you get better soon. I had a similar experience, a few months ago. I had a few tables at a gunshow, and set up and ran for two days of a 3-day show, and ended up testing positive on the evening of the second day. I ended up going in real early before they opened up, and loaded all of stuff up, and left before the show opened for the last day.

I really felt bad about it, because I had unknowingly exposed several of my friends to Covid, who I had set up with on this island we had at the show. Fortunately, none of them caught it. I was very thankful for that.

I don't know if I infected any customers or not. I hope not.

Take care BigJim.
