Great winter so far for us on the DownEast coast here in Maine. Minimal snow, just the wind, always the wind :^). Might hit around 50 degrees or so by next Thursday.

I've seen many winters like this; one week it's in the 60's, then the next in the 30's, but it's the end of February, pretty much, so the end of winter is in sight. Will still have cold days and even snow now and then. I remember the 38" of snow we got on March 13, 1993, so my expectations are always on hold to the middle of April around these parts. When I can put taters in the ground, I'm sure most of the worst is over. :)

Yap the old saying of March coming in like a lamb often holds true! I remember March 1993 well also, we didn't get 38", but probably 2/3 or near of it? And the worst ever here was a similar spring, April 1,2 ?1985 or 86? IDK? 24"?, and 2 days later it was in 70's! But it's been mostly beautiful here for 2 weeks, 60's to 70dgr.

Our snows pretty much gone here in SD, supposed to be 55 today and next week couple days with highs in the twenty's. So far been a good winter with only couple of weeks that stayed below zero and not too much snow. I think our wildlife will come through pretty good. Spring is on the way. :)

It’s been a few years, but I have used the snow camo during winter bow and deer walk right passed me. Have a great day 4finger.

From: Wapiti - - M. S. Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

Bowhogen 51 have you ever used snowcamo with no snow on ground or very little. Late season in a treestand of course no foliage or not much anywhere and you are sky lined.

Never had winter in Northern Wisconsin this year. I generally have a lot to do during the winter so it goes fast for me.

I spoke too soon…looks like the Apricots (trees were budded out) are toast this year… 4finger

From: Corax_latrans

Yup, those early bloomers can get hammered that way!

We had snow basically Once this year, and not that much. That’s probably fortunate, because if the amount of rain that we’ve gotten in the last few weeks or two, have come down as snow… I think the whole eastern seaboard would be grinding to a halt.

I actually enjoy shoveling snow, but only if it’s the nice, light, fluffy, kind like you get in the real mountains. This slop we get down here at sea level is the devil’s work….

So at this point, I am hoping that the rivers will fall enough to be fishable sometime soon and that I will get a break from the “40° or 50° and sodden” that we’ve been putting up with lately.
