Wow, that's a long link, but the cringe is in the description.

Or just go on the bay and look up Vintage Ben Pearson Recurve Bow-Golden Sovereign RH 62"

I've had some that the steering didn't want to stay on, but one can fix that. :) If it was the leatherwall the poster would blame it on auto-correct.

That’s a lot of trouble to go to to see a bow strung backwards…

Looks like it’s in good shape, though- assuming it’s got no twist. And it will probably sell at a fair price, no matter what the seller thinks they’ve got. After all, they’ve already disclosed the fact that it’s non-functional….

It's an easy mistake to make for someone new to archery. I sent them a message in hopes that the bow doesn't get hurt trying to pull it backwards. The other thing you see a lot is bow quivers mounting to the working part of the limbs, but they don't come with instructions...

Don't assume the bows are being shot this way. Some store bows with the string that way. Here's one from an April post on here. I'd bet John didn't shoot the hog with it strung like that.

Krag X3. I and folks I hunted with in the 60s stored their unstrung bows that way.

I understand about storing, but in reading the description I believe the seller tried pulling the bow with the string that way.

Yup, it pulls right off if you try to pull it from the old storage position. Pretty sure it pops off so quick you can’t hurt the bow.

Guys, the limb has a twist and the string (steering) won't stay on. It really doesn't require a lot of cerebral activity.

Oh, and by the way, lots of guys, and I mean a lot of lots, kept their strings on their bows that way. It doesn't hurt them and they aren't strung backwards. Go find some old books and magazines and read about our past.

I can only HOPE that the BOW will wind up in some GOOD hands and receive a lot of TLC??

Question: Why would a person look up old books and magazines to learn about archery history when they won't take the time to read the thread that they are responding to? bvd

I see that old wreck is up over $212 already….

Wonder how bad that twist is?
