I just installed a set of Limbsations on a bow. Love the way they look but had a bit of a problem when I went to install the limb bolts back on my bow.

Everything went great and I love the look but when I tightened the limb bolts, I could not prevent the washers/Bevel from turning which resulted in the limbsations sliding underneath the bevel and putting wrinkles in the vinyl. Being close the end of the limb, the wrinkles lifted the vinyl, and it did not look to cool.

I was going to install an overlay on the end of the limb to prevent this from happening. First, I cut the Vinyl so that I could glue on an overlay. When I looked at it after trimming, I decided to leave it the way it is. It looked fine and I can always add an overlay anytime later if needed.

So, to sum it all up, bevels can turn and probably will create wrinkles. I think you could also take a razor blade and cut around the beveled washer and prevent this from happening. Your choice. I think this worked okay since my limbs were black and blend with the rest of the bow just fine.

I also had this problem when installing some copperhead limbsations on another bow earlier in the year. The bevels were not so close to the limb end, so they didn't come out to bad.

Just a heads up for those wanting to use limbsations. They are a nice product and the graphics are very well done. They can add a nice touch to your bow.

Hope this helps someone out down the road. - Jwingman

Looks fine to me.

Cut washers the same size as the bevels. Make them out of scrap plastic from disposable container lids. The washers won’t turn as you tighten the limb bolts, which then won’t damage the skins.

MPDH - Good suggestion! I had plastic washers under the bevels. I even put a bit of Vaseline on the bevels and the washers, and it still wanted to move the vinyl when tightening. It may have allot to do with how close to the edge the bevel is from the edge of the limb.

Hopefully, just some helpful information for anyone looking to upgrade the looks of their bow. The graphics on these are great!

You need a plan for sure, but they are still pretty easy.

If my limb bolt area has an overlay, I stop the vinyls against it.

If no overlay there, I trim/cut a hole in the vinyl around the bezels.
