Howdy all! I'm trying to find out more about an old recurve that belonged to my father in law. He recently passed and in making sure we got any valuables out first (rough part of the country and hubby is paranoid), I happened to notice it. Freaking gorgeous, and left-handed, so even tho the poundage is way too heavy for me I grabbed it. I was getting ready to order a string for it and started looking it up but I can't find anything about this particular model. As best I can tell it's a Groves Flitiling? (Maybe Titling? Gods old cursive is hard to read.) I've noticed that some specs may vary from year to year, so it's also 62" and 33#. I have more pics but it's only letting me upload one with my post. If anyone can shed some light on this part of this mystery (there are so many other questions about this thing, omg) it would be hella appreciated!

The writing is hard to read. Looks like Fliteline to my eyes.

You can upload more pictures even though you may need to do them one at a time.
And you would need to in order to get useful information.
Pictures of the limb tips, the other writing on the bow, the area where the handle fades into the limbs etc..

There isn't bow information for Groves, but there is some interesting background info on vintagearchery.org. I decided I had to have one after reading the story.

And here's the front of the riser, which is much more distinctive than the sides.

Groves Fliteline was a cheaper model bow in the Groves lineup. Can’t remember if this was Dyna Stressed but believe it was not. Still a very nice bow that is 621964208927” in length and 33# in draw weight. Beautiful condition!

lefty bows are held in the right hand with the string drawn with left hand. Like Kelly said, this is a RH bow, held in left hand, and string is drawn with right hand. NICE BOW and great length & weight.

As most on here would agree, Groves made some fine bows. Price however, is a funny thing when it comes to old recurves. The vast majority of old recurves don’t sell for lots of money. Most probably go for less than $200. Groves bows do typically go for a bit more money than many old recurves, but I would guess best case scenario would be $250 -$300.. you need the right buyer for that draw weight. That being said, I’m no expert. Look at completed listings for a Groves Bows to get and idea. Personally, I’d keep it and shoot it. Good Luck.

Thanks all! It's nice to have gotten a better idea of what it is and y'all responded crazy quick!
Yeah, I realized after Kelly's comment that it is definitely RH. Color my face red! It's an especially embarrassing mistake because I shoot left handed and have my own bow (that is actually left handed for real). I am just directionally challenged. XD
I do plan on keeping it, so cash value doesn't matter much. It may have to hang around the house while I get up to a point where I can consistently draw it without hurting myself (my current bow is 18#, so I'll have to work up to that.)
