A local guy came over today to learn a bit about a bow he acquired. It's a Browning Challenge with SN 5Z28. Can someone tell me when it was made and anything else of interest. It's got a couple of character marks but it sure is a beauty. I've incluses a couple of pics

Rich Lopez who goes but the handle Droptine 59 Here may know. He is a wealth of knowledge on them so you might want to drop him a private message or just wait and he might post here.

It looks to be a 1965, but I'll check the catalog.

It's a 1966 according to the catalog but likely was made in the fall of 1965 according to the serial number. Many companies did that, change the models in the fall and then update in January.

Catalog says 8" for brace height.

I have a Browning very similar in profile but plain wood. Does yours have tiny tips ?

That was Browning's top of the line field and target model so it was decked out with all the gozintos of the time. Their typical tip overlays were dark brown and white fiberglass and very well done.

Yes the tips are pretty tiny.

Very nice...

Need to measure that bow nock to nock before you get a string...likely not 66".
