Went yesterday morning, hunted in a blind on my father's place, saw nothing. Except for doves, crows and a squirrel. Hunted the evening hunt where I really hoped to get a buck. We had a 20% chance of rain. It is just getting into the magic hour of the evening hunt when the clouds opened up and man did it pour. I gave it up then, I struggle to see blood now as it is and the rain washes away the blood anyways. Have hard some very hard recoveries because of rain. So, maybe this evening. Jerry

We only get one buck tag per year, so sometimes it's good not to get one the first at bat. :) It's just begun. Stay at it and you'll get that buck.

I agree!! One buck tag is hard on opening day. Lol. I got a buck first week last year and then had to buy a out of state tag so I could keep hunting.

What about doe tags?

Lots of doe tags in Pa. if you're in the right region (WMA), many of them now over the counter. Most though, are already sold out. Don't know much about Arkansas.

Haven’t checked Arkansas for a long while since I don’t get to hunt there anymore but most areas were a buck and two does with a three point rule. That’s been a few years. Maybe Jerry can update for us.

2 bucks and 3 point rule, plus 4 does, 2 deer have to be in a different county.

Glad you made it out and I'm not a fan of hunting in the rain either due to the potential of washing away blood.

Stay after them and best of luck this season!

2nd day a bust too. The wind changed after I got into the blind. it is what it is.

Never had a day hunting that was a "bust"....fishing either.

There have been days the weather didn't cooperate, the critters didn't cooperate, etc. But none of them were a bust.

20 years ago, took my daughter and son-n-law down south to bow hunt, this was almost two hour drive one way. We were going to hunt in this one place but there was a big camp there so we went elsewhere. I let the son-n-law out to take care of an urgent urge. Now we were even further south and suddenly we had a big problem, He got into fire ants really bad and he is pretty allergic to them. So, trip to the nearest hospital as he ain't doing so hot. Of course this is another 1 1/2 hrs south. Five hours later, we are heading back home. that was a for sure bust.
