As I was out shooting a little today, I noticed how reflective the clear glass finish was on my limbs, and that had me thinking. How many of you hunt with Brass Bezels on your hunting bow? Also, what can you do to take some of the shine off of your limbs? It might not matter much, but I know the brown glass on my longbow is a lot less reflective than the clear glass on the limbs on my Hummingbird. Thoughts and opinions welcome.

Rub paste wax on it and let it dry without buffing it off.

On the two bows I own that have them, the brass bezels turned dull in just a short time.

I liked using wax, also. Buff off at season end.

When I got my Robertson 3 piece I was working and took them to work and had a friend in tool bringing sand blast them for me.

Crayons or military face paint will also work well. A little harder to take off but also stays on longer in my experience than wax. Or paint and be done.

That’s such a small piece that it won’t make any difference, I have brass bezels on almost all my bows. Deer don’t care. Salt and ammonia will patina brass if you don’t like the shine.

Do the patina thing mentioned above, then green scrubbie the bow, wipe down VERY lightly with denatured alcohol then a tack cloth. Shoot the bow with Krylon/Rustoleum Clear Flat Matte indoor/outdoor spray paint. Two very light coats. Done!

Ive used the cloth camo tape from Hunter Specialties. It works well and does not leave goo on the finish. Just run a strip down the limb

I was out on a job for a few days and just getting back to this. Thanks for the recommendations. Think I will try to he paste wax opening weekend. If that does not work out, I may have to try one of the other methods. For paste wax, just like the stuff for automotive?? Thanks again,

Don't move when they can see you and you could have a gloss bow with white limbs while wearing disco shoes. BigJim

as mentioned above, the brass bezels dull in time.
if it's still a concern, replace them with black ones. one time i found some in the row of miscellaneous hardware bins at lowe's.

Big Jim, if it's on my mind and I can remedy the issue with a quick thread.. Why Not?
I do worry about the overly shiny brass and finish. Just as I do when I turkey hunt. You don't have to be dancing or even moving to get caught, and an opportunity runs away. Maybe you have a bigger population of deer, or maybe they are not as pressured as ours.
