Probably this one as a woods knife. I carry a Recruit thiugh more everyday as it’s a better urban knife for me personally.

I alternate the two on the left to carry,, The Rescue Tool I got for my Nephew who's a Firefighter in Austin and for my Step Daughter whose a Medic here in OH, thought it was handy so I got one for myself also.

The standard size Wenger serves as backup in my fanny pack. The mini Victorinox stays in my archery tackle box.

I nominate Jeff Darnell to do the #5 knife spot light. It doesn’t have to be a pocket knife. ;)

I got you, bud. It will be a folder.

The walker is another nice one that is super light and still handy for backpacking atleast. The saw saved me one time as I had to make walking sticks the second day to help me walk out!!

Cool sorry I spelled your name wrong.

I meant Jeff Durnell! Thanks Jeff I’ll be looking forward to knife spot light number 5. Then maybe you could nominate some Leather Waller to do knife spot light number 6. And so on. It would be cool to keep this going for the knife buffs on here.;(

When it comes to knives, all I care about is knives from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Switzerland. I do own a few Case brand made in USA knives and they are nice. But nothing beats the practicality, tradition, functionality, and value for dollar than the above listed countries. My knife I carry with me EVERY hunting trip is a Victorinox Hunter. Link below-

https://www.victorinox.com/us/en/Products/Swiss-Army- Knives/Large-Pocket-Knives/Hunter/p/0.8573

It will do anything and everything needed on a hunting trip and it fits into your pocket. Mine has field dressed umpteen (at least 50, yes really 50) whitetail deer and a few eastern turkey, and one coyote since I've owned it.

Victorinox, Marttiini, Roselli, Wood Jewel, Mora, and Ahti are just a few of the brands from that part of the world that offer fantastic knives at fair prices THAT ARE NOT MADE IN CHINA!

Babysaph I keep toilet paper in my truck also in case I need it. "LOL"

I carry one everyday and most days I use it at least once. I inherited my fathers and carried that for years until I thought I lost it one day. Luckily I found it but retired that one to the knife case and bought a hunter model. Really like the little saw blade that comes with that model. A few years back, I bought a red handled ranger model to be used as a pass around knife to a group of my friends. Each user got to have it for a week or two and then passed it on to the next user. At the end we picked a name and they got to keep the knife along with a diary of where and what it was used for over the months. I filmed a 4 part video series abuut the Victorinox Red Ranger Journey that is up on youtube. The knife was used for a incredable variety of tasks. Before I raffled it off, I contacted the owner of Victorinox and and he wrote a personal letter to the winner, which i passed along with the knife. Very impressive company. Good general use pocket knives in my opnion. take care, brian

Mainly carry a huntsman and this little one with a pen and a light. Also have an aloe farmer

I get that this is an old video and that production of all knives have gone to factory type output, BUT even then there is an incredible amount of human input that cheap 'common' knives don't get vs Swiss, Swede, Danish, Norwegian, and Finnish knives that still are mostly small cottage industries (including Victorinox/Swiss Army) that give a hoot about their customers and final usage.

If you want a fantastic, all-around SAK, at a great price, you just can't beat the Hiker!

Notice I like the SAK saw? If you're a woodsman, you need that saw.

I went simple a few years ago, after spending some time with John Schulz and seeing his choice of pocket knife... The Victorinox floral. So I got some and they are awesome for a single blade setup. I dressed, skinned, and boned out my deer last year with one and only steeled it once and afterwards could slice rope and 1/8" thick tanned leather.

So since I loved the sheepsfoot blade design I modified my other SAK knives of choice and carry one of these most days. The SAK electrician and the SAK 7 both in Alox which is the bomb. These are different than the plastic scaled models which I used in the past. Seem a better steel and definitely more robust. The bottom knife is a SAK locking Hunter model given to my by a European hunting buddy, that's what they are used to relying on when they go afield. The European hunters wield their knives like surgeons, and the easily sharpened, stainless SAK is a super good, easy to care for field knife. I've never had an Alox model with wobbly blades and the precision leaves our local knives behind. I've got Old Timer stockmans I really like, and seen some other USA reliables but they have poor craftsmanship in comparison and require more maintenance.

I've got the Floral. It's also known as the Utility Knife, as mine was, and the Gardener. It's actually a better design than the Solo, but the Solo, with it's Alox scales, is neater. The sheepsfoot blade on the Floral would work great as a field dressing knife.

Joe... Modify your standard SAK spear point blade to a sheepsfoot. Easy to do and they're the same length as the floral sheepsfoot.

From: Frisky
Date: 19-Sep-22

Well, for field-dressing, I prefer to use the gutting blade on the Hunter XT. The main blade on that knife is a drop-point and almost sheepsfooty in design.

Got this as a gift 25 years ago and carry it nearly every day. I think it’s basically the Farmer model and has just the right amount of features.

The Solo, now called the 1, is a simple SAK with the Farmer blade. It's now $10 cheaper than it used to be, selling for only $20. I don't carry mine. First, it's slippery and can slide out of your pocket, if you're on your back doing a task. It also bit me three times in three months, when I wasn't paying enough attention closing it. It's super narrow, with little room to get your fingers out of the way. So, I tabled it.
