We knew what you meant Gregg . A friend of mine has one . Excellent bow , alot of years of blood , sweat , tears and R&D behind that bow . Fantastic price point . Made by a true gentleman easy to deal with .

Kegan got the design of the Royal Huntsman "right" and it is an excellent bow, IMHO.
He is very good to deal with (I think of him as "Mr. Integrity") and cares about producing a good product.
I listened to an audio recording of an interview with Kegan where he talks about developing the Royal Huntsman; I agree with Vaquero 45,there is a lot of years of blood, sweat, tears and R&D behind that bow.

I've heard nothing but good about those bows. The Stickboys who have a podcast and YouTube videos love them.

The one on the left is my 68" Dymalux riser Royal Huntsman.
The colorful one on the right is my new, 66" Spectraply riser Royal Huntsman that was delivered on Aug. 6, 2022.
Spectraply is has a lower density and this one has a 24 oz mass weight. Even though it is lighter, I cannot detect any hand shock.
I think this speaks well for the limb design. Yes, I do like my Omega's :)

I’ve been thinking about one too. Thanks for sharing the pics. Is there any durability difference between Dymalux and Spectraply?

I would just contact Kegan, he's pretty good at explaining the materials, and is really honest person

My build start date is in two weeks. Green mountain camo riser with green glass. Asked for [email protected]”. I’ve never had a longbow that I could consistently shoot well. Hoping this might be the one. If not I will just be a recurve guy.

Dymalux is very hard and dense, my Dymalux Huntsman has a mass weight of 40 oz, the Spectraply is less dense and that bow weighs 24 oz.
Even though it is lighter, the Specraply bow shoots very well.
Dymalux is hard, and almost feels like metal to me, even though it is based on laminated birch. I expect it would be harder to dent, which is a moot point to me because my bows lead a sheltered life ;)
I like both materials, the Spectraply bow is nicer to carry long distances and does not give up much in shooting properties due to he basic good design of the Huntsman.
As type this, my understanding is Dymalux is not a current option for Omega Longbows but Kegan could better update you on that than I can.

Fully agree.
I have had many dealings with him, all enjoyable and extremely positive. I think of him as "Mr. Integrity".
You can buy a bow from him with the full confidence that it will be a positive experience from the initial ordering, right through to shooting it :)

I should have mentioned, in the past years there have been some discussion about finish quality.
I am fussy and I thought my 2019 Imperial was pretty good in that regard. It also performs quite well.
However, Kegan has "kicked it up quite a few notches"in the last few years; the 66" Spectrapy Huntsman I received on Aug. 6, 2022 is VERY well finished.

The closest I've been to a hybrid is briefly owning a Bear Patriot longbow. By no means a full hybrid and I didn't really care for it and paid too much for it to keep a bow I didn't care for. They are nowhere near center shot and it was very fussy to tune. Despite loving my vintage Bear recurves and mostly hunting with those for many years, I decided to order an Omega Royal Huntsman in 62", 42-44# range, Emberglow riser, brown glass, maple core. Kegan is starting on it early September and said it should be ready to deliver mid-October. I'm very excited. Wasn't bad considering I only contacted him maybe a month ago. Although economically priced for a solid custom bow that everyone is raving about it's the most I've paid for a bow to date, so I'm hoping it solves for my interest in a hybrid. I love the simplicity of a longbow but even my old vintage Bear recurves outperform most in similar draw weights. Those Kodiak Hunters are super efficient. I can always tell because I shoot 100% instinctively. I shoot right around a 500gr TOW and at 20 yards, not a yard more, I do not have to mentally compensate at all with a KH, it's right on flat shooting to 20 yards. My Grizzly's are about 6" low in similar weights as are the Montana's all in the low 40's # range. Very much looking forward to the Omega hoping for the best of both worlds between recurve and longbow and hoping they are as fast and efficient as most people are saying.

Here's some info that I hope is helpful.
If you were not aware, the Royal Huntsman is cut to center.
I have three Omega's, and Imperial and 66" and 68" Royal Huntsman. They share the same riser design and all of mine are only 2# apart in draw weight.
All three shoot the same arrow identically well and the nocking point height is the same for all three.
I can literally grab my quiver and not be concerned if I have her right arrows in it for whichever bow I choose to take.
Here is a picture of the 66" Huntsman, showing the unstrung limb shape.

I received mine yesterday. Two weeks ahead of what I was told. It has a very simplistic beauty. The performance is well above its price range.
