Thought I saw a Hoyt Buffalo….funny you say that about the Bear because I had the exact same thought haha

The only one I know is Benji was shooting a silver tip

The producers aren't going to let them display the bows without a paid endorsement deal. Possibly a missed opportunity for some outfits while others seem to have months long waiting lists and could care less.

Takedown Recurve, takes apart and easier to transport to where they are going. You don't have to unstring them once strung and a stringer doesn't take up any space if you do take it down. If you have thumb screws or antler knob screws for the limbs, you don't even need a allen wrench to put it together or take it apart, for most bows. Fred Bear had no problem using a Recurve in the wilderness. DANNY

I saw the Silvertip, and some others that looked like Samicks. I did not see the dual shelf Toelke, but I'll be watching for it in the future.

Wonder if they are allowed to take a spare string?

The Asian guy is quite a stringwalker. He appears to be a good shot.

I saw a longbow but did not ID it.

I haven’t been following the series, but I will say this much… If I were going to be on that show, I would take a rock-solid, two-piece longbow above anything else I can think of. No stringer required, which could be important when you get to the point where you are wasted away to where you can barely manage it without using a step- through method.

And to be honest, I just like shooting a longbow anyway.

So now I’m going to tune out on this thread, just in case it comes up on one of the six cable channels that I still get ;)

I saw a Bear emblem and a Timber Ridge.

We can get it on Sling TV, along with Roku, and that's about $30.00 a month. Comes through the internet so don't need satellite or cable tv.

I’m not sure about the bows used on “Alone” but the bow Matt uses on “Naked and Afraid” 60 day challenge in the Amazon sure looks like a “Dwyer”. Cotton

I'm a straight end Longbow fan but I get perplexed when I see the durability of modern recurves questions and hear discussions about the difficulty of stringing them.

Other than personal preference it really wouldn't make any practical diffetence at all to me.

Personally from a durability pov I would seriously consider a solid fiberglass bow with no wood at all and no extra pieces like takedown hardware etc.

I have to agree on the take down recurve , and it’s ability to take down for their travel to the site, then just leave it strung , I’m sure a few of them shoot a tread bow during their normal lives but most probably don’t and a recurve is probably easier to learn in a short time and a cheaper import is a lot less investment and will do fine. I know Benjis silver tip is his normal hunting bow

Here is what I have noticed, for what it is worth to the "brotherhood". Karie Lee is shooting a one piece longbow. Jessie is shooting a one piece recurve. Juan Pablo is shooting a takedown recurve. Adam is shooting a takedown longbow. Tom is shooting a takedown recurve. Didn't catch what Terry is shooting. Teimajin is shooting a takedown recurve.

Each contestant can only bring ten items. A photo of family is considered one item. NINE arrows are considered one item.

Every photo of the bows that I recall seeing were strung. I have not seen anyone assemble, string or unstring a bow.

Hope this helps, stay safe everyone.

I think Teimajin limbs said Hoyt on them. Don't know about the riser.

Karie Lee is definitely shooting a one piece, dual shelf toelke.. can't tell for sure if it is a whip or a whistler, but for sure a toelke. She had a strange way of gripping the bow when she was shooting tho! I also saw someone with hoyt limbs and also someone shooting black eagle vintage arrows.. didn't get screenshots of those tho..

Karie Lee is shooting a dual shelf Toelke Pika.

If you go to the History Channel webpage they show the 10 items each participant has chosen. It shows that Terry is shooting a Bear Super Kodiak.

Tom is shooting a Timber Ridge T/D recurve

Jessie looks like she is shooting a Ben Pearson Hunter recurve

Igor is shooting a Howard Hill longbow

Looks like Juan Pablo is also shooting a Timber Ridge T/D recurve

Adam is shooting a Timber Ridge T/D longbow

Jacques was shooting a Bear Grizzly

So now let's watch the sale of Timber Ridge bows go up in sales. They must be better, three of the six are shooting them. They are likely going to take what they shoot best and have confidence in. I haven't watched any of it yet, but I need to get back into it, it may take my mind off our crazy world here. :)

Looking at Timber Ridge bows on 3 Rivers website, they are $299. Guessing they are made in China?

Is it my imagination or is the gripping portion of the quiver way into the working limb on the tolke?

How can you tell if the bow is marked out? Just ordered a Tinber Ridge. Lol

I anxious to see what all they kill.

one thing is for sure, some of them are "just killing time" ! Now, while the fishing is fairly productive, they should be stocking up and smoking everything they can.

Thanks for further identifying the bows.
