I am trying to make some fishing arrows. I bought some fiberglass markers from Lowe's and they are just fine for the shaft. I wanted to make the points myself , but , I'm not sure how to go about it. I could easily buy everything and done , but , this time I want to fashion some, with off the shelf stuff. Something anyone can do without much equipment or tools. any thoughts , ideas ?

A field point glued on, a hole drilled through everything and a barb made from a nail or piece of wire.

What fdp said. I used a clipped finish nail epoxied in a hole drilled at an angle

raghorn, That second one with the swivel barbs looks slicker than fish slime! Well done, sir.

I didn't make them, they are from a few years back when I still had my broadhead collection. I still have a bunch of photos buried on the computer.

Here is the easiest points I ever found out how to make. If you have a hammer, vice, hacksaw, & file. A sander or grinder would be a big help.Take 8-32 screws I believe that is the size for inserts. Cut a slot in them & grind to a point. Bend the piano wire for barbs. I used to lose & tear up so many points on the rocky bottoms. I made the points & barbs by the dozen. The pictures will make it plain & you can work with what you have.

Slip the wire into the point, screw in the arrow & shoot the fish.

2 bears, That is identical to the threaded/slotted point and barb combo of many commercial fish points.

Yes I got tired of buying points & you couldn't buy just parts. Worse was losing the last point just when fishing was getting good. I started making them the easiest way I could & carrying a pocket full. It don't take no time to make a dozen. >>>----> Ken

Not a point, but if make the points removable, you can slip on a O ring and slip your string under it to keep it near the point
