I agree Brad. Be kind, especially, and tell folks how much you love and appreciate them.

My parents are in their early 70's. I changed my life to make sure i was around when they needed me. They don't always have time for me...and i love that they are so active, but i am always available to them when they do.

I work full time in long term care and the age variance people end up there is quite a bit. Don't wait to do and say what you want to. Life can change in moment.

I agree. I have several that I lost an have some older buddies that are over 75 and they are slowing down now.

One of my old neighbors who was a bachelor all his life provided a hot cup of coffee ,breakfast and a good dose of BS every morning to anyone who stopped in.

A lot of good people made it a regular stop. Quite a interesting group. From young to old, but mostly good old timers like him.

The crowd has definitely changed over the years. Some pass this world. And some new people stop in.

Not many of the old timers left anymore. Including the old bachelor who started it. I’m almost the oldest now.

We hang a picture of each of them and talk about them often.

Good memories

I agree. I lost a brother-in-law recently who I was sad to see go. We were on opposite ends of the archery spectrum and we always enjoyed yanking each others chains. RIP Mark.

Although she was a non archer, my sister in law, Shelley, passed very quickly after a vaccination last year. Her husband and I had drifted apart and oddly enough we had just reconnected just about a month before we lost her. Brother took it hard, and has drifted again. Still pray for him, and he is in my thoughts quite a lot. This life is a vapor, wring everything out of it, but be sure that you thank the Giver of the life you have

You never know who won't be among us tomorrow young or old. So let them know you care.

Yep.

Have had way to many friends pass away in the past 5 or so years, and several were younger than me.

My old hunting partner has been dead for 7 or 8 years now and was 15 years my senior. If I had told him I loved him I don't think it would have ended well. He was a crusty old fart.

Yes sir, appreciate every moment you have with em, unfortunately, I’m at the age where I’m going to more funerals then weddings . I treat every moment as a treasure. Life is sweet but fleeting.

My wife's last living uncle passed last Thursday. He had a full life almost 95 but still the last of the boys of Oscar and Maude Waugerman. The old guard slowly moves on past the gates and time waits for no one. Thank you all for the thoughts and kind words, this is quite a place where we can fuss at each other and still love each other. Awesome indeed.

I agree with all said above, thanks for the help and the banter. I hope we all last quite a while longer. Appreciate you all!

reddogge, I know what you mean, my 98 year old father is the same way. But still we can show them by our actions.

Yes Sir the worst thing about getting old is all your friends are gone. The friends that are still living can't get around much less handle a bow. Parents, all aunts & uncles, & most of the cousins which were all younger are just memories. Shoot your bows have a good time, make memories, for one day that will be all that is left. >>>---> Ken

Wholeheartedly agree. Many of my hunting buddies are suffering the wrath of age and other issues. I appreciate them, and try and share as much time as possible together. I feel blessed to enjoy the company of some really worthy individuals. I hope they feel the same. Life is wayyyy to short! Scott

While we are on the subject I would like to say how much I appreciate the wealth of wisdom and experience on the LW, not to mention the personalities. I had been shooting a long time already but when I found this site around 10 years ago I realized I knew nuthin' !
