What size screw in adapter will i need for the Zwickey or Grizzly 130gr. broadheads to shoot on XX75 Eastons 2216 ,2117,2114 Aluminum Arrows? I think 11/32 correct? How much weight is too "heavy" for my broadhead setup with the extra weight of the adapter? Shooting the heavy weight broadheads do you have to limit your shots to very close point blank ranges or you will get quick"rainbow drop" in trajectory?

So yes...11/32 is correct for the adapter, how much weight is too much is directly related to the draw weight of your bow and your use environment.

The heavy weight broadhead thing is related to front of center discussions which go on for days on here with no real agreement, so you need to do your own experimentation with that feature.

The "rainbow" can be associated with any overly heavy per draw weight arrow regardless of front of center configuration.

You need to buy the proper size insert for your heads...depending on the model of Zwickey they take different sizes. The Eskilite take 5/16" and the larger Eskimo take 11/32".

The aluminium adapters only weigh 30 grains...so the total head weight will only be 160 grains. That's not a big increase.

You did not say what your setup is so it's impossible for me or anyone else to predict trajectory arc. I use 160 grain broad heads in 48-60# bows and shoot out to 30 metres with a flat trajectory, as my arrows are 9-10 gpp.

The adapter should be 25-30 grains if aluminum short, @5 grains more if long. The steel ones you have to weigh cause they come in many different weights.

What fdp said about bow weight.

The aluminum arrows you mentioned are heavy any way so no need in using anything other than a aluminum broadhead adapter in your heads. With that said you will end up with 10gpp or higher anyway if you are shooting a 29” or longer arrow.

Great. What do you guys use for a backstop /target to test broadheads? I have been shooting into a dirt bank any better ideas? Thanks for all the great help

I use an old foam broadhead target, and back it up with more foam pieces, haven't gotten a complete pass thru yet. But easy to pull arrow out the back.

Keekeerun, You may want to buy a broached target.

I had access to MK-19 packing foam so went the frugal route.
