I don’t think I have seen anybody mention these, so I wanted to make sure everybody knew these were available. I am in the process of basically tuning 4-5 different bows My daughter bought a Kinetic ILF bow shooting around 27# I bought a 17” riser and a 25” riser for me, and two sets of limbs, and now have 4 different bows, ranging from 60” for hunting to 68” for target, as well as 42# for hunting and as low as 26# for form work. So I needed to get some different shafts in different spines…

3R sells the black Easton Jazz arrows in 6-packs, that include the inserts, uni bushings, and G nocks. I think this package is an excellent value for someone wanting to try a particular spine to try out, like me. I ended up getting 1716, 1816, and 1916 and it looks like I am going to be able to cover everything. The biggest challenge is my daughters bow, shooting 26-27# at 26” draw. 1716 may still be a little too stiff…

Anyway, nice arrows, great values, good looks, and hey… it’s aluminum! Just sayin…

Alternatives sell the Tribute shaft, which are black and XX75, they come in sizes from 12XX to 20XX. $3.32 a shaft, but you need to pay for the additional parts. The 3Rivers shafts are 32 for 6, but come with the nock, from the look of it.

I think the shipping works out for me, but might not work out for everyone.

Joe -

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know Easton Made Jazz arrows in black, very cool. BTW - Lancaster has then in 1516 and 1616, which should be fine for your daughter. Currently out of stock, though.

Viper out.

We use them.

I’m sorry, there is one more thing I wanted to point out, I don’t think it came out clear.

I needed to buy a few different spines to do some tuning, and yes I would always go to Lancaster before. Yes, you can call Lancaster and order 1 or 2 1616s for example. The problem is, you cannot buy 1 or 2 inserts or nocks. So you have to buy a dozen inserts that you may or may not ever use. I know they aren’t terribly expensive, it is what it is.

So, I liked how 3R sold a 6 pack, with everything included. Just depends on your needs…

Viper, mark it down. The absolute only time I can point something out to you… lol

These arrows look pretty sharp as well, I’ll try to get a pic

Jazz shafts no longer require glue on nocks?? Uni bushings are now used??

Thanks for that information, Riverwolf. It's been a few years since I've bought any jazz shafts, have a decent supply of platinum plus and autumn orange. I think that was a good move on Easton's part, quicker and easier repair. Black only now?

Joe -

I think we kinda discussed this before. Buying multiple shaft sizes just isn't necessary. Start with a recommended spine from a reliable source and start shooting - they will come out straight. When you're ready to try tuning, bare shaft what you have. If the data you get is consistent, you'll either know you have the right arrows or what you have to do to get it right.

I like purple. It's easier to find if you miss.

Steve- they still make purple, and those are still swaged (sp?) I believe

Right on Viper, we are still on the same page. The arrows I got are for different bow weights. 30” arrow for 42# 1916 for Bosen Horn 30” arrow for 34# 1816 for SF Evo 1716 are for my 26#?limbs, and was just hoping they may somehow fly out of my daughters bow as well.

Joe-

You're doing great. The only concern, and admittedly it's a big one, is for a relatively new shooter playing with several bows. Even most experienced shooters will do better focusing on one rig.

Reminds me of “black arrow” by R. Stevenson (iirc)

Tomorrow I will be going to my outdoor range and I will get some better pictures of them just so you guys can see them

The Tribute uses a glue on knock.

I like having different shaft to test for spine. just seems easier to flight test than to dig out charts and stuff. In target when using bullet points there is a lot of standardization, but messing around with different point weights, just seems simpler to run an arrow.
