The dream Raffle for 2022 is a good one. Winner will be drawn Saturday evening. You can buy tickets online on the Compton Website

The flier says "primitive" camping. Does anyone know if there is room for a 5th wheel or is this mostly tent camping?

From: Hunter Dave
Date: 01-Feb-22

While I can't recall specifically seeing any 5th wheel rigs in the past, the venue should be able to easily accommodate your rig since most of the campground is in a fairly flat, wide open field and the road in is paved.

From: Widow sax
Date: 01-Feb-22

There is room for a 5th wheel but you may be in the sun depending when you get there. There is not alot of shade. Widow

From: Fritz
Date: 01-Feb-22

Yes. Room for a fifth wheel. Just don’t run your generator, lots of campers !!

From: BigB
Date: 01-Feb-22

Hope to make this one day.

From: Driver
Date: 01-Feb-22

I don't have enough solar/battery to last more than 4 days without running a generator a couple hours a day so I guess I'll have to skip it.

From: Knifeman
Date: 01-Feb-22

There are lots of people running generators during the daytime, just not at night. Campers are stacked up like cordwood, just common courtesy.

There was a time when I used to enjoy events like this, but I've pretty mush lost all interest in going to any kind of crowded venue anymore. He!! I even avoid going to Walmart. Enjoy it if you can.

Also please note that we asked for and received an earlier start time for the kid's shooting program. The hot afternoon sun has always been a concern for me. The PeeWees will start at 10a and the 7-teens will start at 11a. If you would like to volunteer some time during this program or have any questions feel free to PM me. Thanks and looking forward to seeing everyone there!!

From: soap creek

I'm planning on being there. Looking forward to listening to Clay Hayse speak. I will have my Soap Creek shirt on. If you see me, come up and say hello.

Fritz, I don’t know your budget but there are several new hotels in the Benton Harbor area, 10-15 minutes away. A Courtyard Marriott, Staybridge, and a Springhill. These are all new. There is a couple also in Stevensville too, maybe 20 minutes away.

From: Fritz
Date: 30-Apr-22

No budget. Thanks I’ll check them out

From: rabbitman Compton's Traditional Bowhunters
Date: 30-Apr-22

There are several motels off of Hwy 94, exits 28, 29 and 30. Approx. an 8 mile drive to the rendezvous.

From: Knifeman

Come down to the campgrounds on Thursday evening for some live music and socializing. Myself and a few others will be providing the entertainment. At least the campfire will be good, lol. It is a great time.

Well I was going to have to skip Compton this year. They way things turned out, car broke down in Tennessee on the way from the hill classic to San Diego. Going to be another week before it's ready.

So I'm sending the girl home on a plane and jumping a greyhound to berrien springs. If I can't have a good time, might as well have a great one, I'll be there.
