Manderin Duk offers a takedown longbow called the Devourer Looks nice and $400 I wonder if anyone on here has one and their thoughts.

I have one. 40@28 that I draw to 29”. Beautiful bow, well made, rock solid td system. Stock string sounded like an out of tune banjo. $425.00 to my door. Fast shipping, approximately 1 week from China. It comes with a case . I take it with me every trip to my local range. Glad I bought it.

they sure look good in the ads and videos...but the website shows the 45# to be out of stock...

I had a black lab that would eat just about anything.

Must be something about Black Labs George. My sister had one named Ziggy. She went through 3 couches with that Lab and it broke 3 windows jumping through them to get outside. Devour would of been a better name for her dog.

I have one of the Labrador versions as well of The Devourer. He's 7 months and can do come devouring for sure.He likes archery it looks like as he chewed up a leather quiver,a few wood arrows and through in some turkey beards for good measure.

He cost more than the bow.2000$ plus damages. That bow looks nice gotta admit from the one pic.My dog would devour it.

That's a nice looking bow and probably has a nice flaw free finish without stress lines.

Anyone know what type of takedown system it uses?

I dunno, Stix… the 2-piece TD option at that price point is not anything I’ve seen. Not even used.

If you are someone who has a need for a takedown, that is an absolute game changer.

I don’t have $400 into any one of these, and there are no flies whatsoever on any one of them. So I guess you could say that $400 for the duck is absolutely ridiculous.

But if travel were a significant consideration…. Maybe if I were to be patient enough, I could find something at about the right poundage in a used US-built product. But if I were in a hurry?

I don’t expect that I will buy one, but I can absolutely see why there’s a market for that both, and I’m glad that someone has been able to fill it. Because unless you have a 100% utilitarian outlook, a two piece Longbow is miles away from a three piece. So if the performance is there and it feels right in your hand…?

They are on sale right now for $340...ONLY because I asked for them to be included in their Father's Day sale...and they agreed. :) There is also a new version called the MKII, which they also put on sale for Father's but it has a SS bow bolt of some kind and costs more. With a price like this I'm thinking that it will make a great Father's gift...for myself. LOL

I love the looks of that bow too. Comparing the Black Hunter ordered directly from them, I believe it is another winner. It looks like it compares very closely to the BW 2 piece take down. It has had very good reviews so far. I would love to shoot one. >>>>-----> Ken

I'm buying one of the models, but I'm not sure which one. The MKII is so new that there are no reviews. They did reply to my question about the differences with this~

"The Devourer Origin and MK II share a similar two-piece design, but there are some upgrades for the MK II. 1. The methods of the joint are different. While the original version uses an insert structure, the MK II uses a screw structure. With the additional positioning screw, the two pieces become a firm one-piece riser after they are assembled. 2. The core materials of the risers are different. We put two pieces of 70HRC 440C stainless steel inside to stabilize the MK II better. 3. We also add some ergonomic designs for grip and fingers to get a better feel of holding."

I did see a video of someone putting the new MKII together and it's a bow bolt, but it actually appears to screw together a lot more than the common bow bolts that I have owned.

thanks... I pulled the trigger and bought one of the original models because I prefer it to the bow bolt. I will post what I think about it once it gets here.

I was just reminded that I promised to post when my new bow got here... I got it a couple of weeks ago, and it is a great bow. The finish is nice and the limb veneers are beautiful. The two halves fit together better than any sleeved TD I've ever owned, and you would think it was a one piece bow if you didn't know better. I was afraid that the grip would be too large for my liking, but it's not. I always prefer a smallish grip, but this one fills the hand well and is very comfortable in the hand. The leather work is also very well done. I ordered a 47# bow, so they sent my order to their factory and it took about 3 weeks to get it here in Arkansas...a pretty amazing feat. I would recommend it as a great bow for the price. I did tell them that I wish they made it in 62-64" though...just a personal thing. LOL

Chinese folks can be great to deal with. Most will bend over backward to please you. It is their government that is so bad. Sadly ours seems to be headed that way. >>>----> Ken
