Wow!!!!

From: George D. Stout

So I take it you like the stippled grips. I tried one of those on a bow once and did not care for it at all. Just shows how different we can be in that aspect. Those are very nice bows as are all of his works.

From: Buckeye

beautiful

From: joe vt
Date: 30-Jul-21

Thanks guys. Its interesting that these two bows are 15 years apart in the making of them.

You know George, my Thunderhorn was the first bow that had stipple on it. I can honestly say I don't care for the way it diffuses the beauty of wood grain, but the feel is very comfortable to me. I have never held another bow with stipple, these are the only ones.

Those are the BOMB.

Current 1 PC, Mesquite riser, stippled, East Indian Rosewood veneers, elk tips. Duane truly knows how to blend various woods, to create his Bow-Art.

Made for one of my sons in 2002. This Heartstopper is all Hawaiian Koa other than Red Elm core... mine above is bamboo with CheChen veneers. These pics do not show the beautiful shimmering wood that Koa displays...almost iridescent in the sunlight.

Another sweety Duane is a master at his craft

From: 2 bears
Date: 10-Sep-22

Those are all works of art. Joe you have a pair of aces. Does that pin in the center of the grip go all the way through? Unusual touch on a bow. It matches that one exactly. >>>----> Ken

From: Wack 1
Date: 10-Sep-22

Definitely top of the line. Nice pics.

From: Suedog
Date: 10-Sep-22

Duane's bows are hunting bows exemplified! They carry like a pocket knife.

From: Kelly
Date: 10-Sep-22

If you will notice in Joe’s 3rd picture the bow on left was custom made for me. It is one of the bows I regret selling to this day.

Stockman, I thought Duane had quit building bows?

From: B.T.
Date: 10-Sep-22

Great maple in that riser.

From: joe vt
Date: 11-Sep-22

joe vt's embedded Photo

Ken, I am unsure if that mosaic pin goes all the way through the riser. Duane posted a bow he made years ago and it had them in it, I asked him to do the same for my bow. I think it looks great.

Kelly, yes I love that Thunderhorn I bought from you. I believe it caused many a bow orders through the years for Duane. Duane is still building bows but only on his term meaning no custom orders and he puts 1 up for sale every 2-3 months on his website. He just has a 41#'r up for sale the other week.....see photo, I was so tempted to buy it :)

From: Kelly
Date: 11-Sep-22

That one appears to be sold, Joe.

Stockman, tells us more about your new arrival?

From: stickman
Date: 13-Sep-22

Hey Kelly! New arrival was from buying a stockbow from duane his bows are works of art and a good friend of mine Tughill told me there such smooth, quiet and dead in the hand he was right so with my longdraw I ordered a 64" from duane and told him work his magic that he did specs are 64"50#@30" woods are cocobolo with figured myrtle and fiddle backed myrtle limbs back and belly shes named silent death excited to get out with it this fall

From: Kelly
Date: 13-Sep-22

Jarrod, I see the cocobolo in the second one you posted but not the first one. The one I’m asking about is from July 30 2021 post. It looks like Bocate and maybe micarta- something very dark?

I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on a Coup Stick and a 2 piece TD Heartstopper. I am just amazed at the Overlay fit of the 2 piece takedown and I like the way he puts the colors together.

Dhay, what is the weight on that two piece?

From: Kelly

Kelly, this bow was built for a Big Fellow (60 @ 32). Low 50ish at my draw length. I picked it up from a classified add.

From: Kelly

Just was wondering as I had one that looked similar but it was 50#@29”. It was a great shooting bow.

I like the idea of stippled grips just like checkering on a nice firearm . Never own one and shot a bow with stippled grips but pretty sure I would like it . I can’t see how it could be a negative thing and looks nice

From: Papadeerhtr
Date: 05-Apr-23

Those are some beautiful bows!!!

From: NBK
Date: 05-Apr-23

Ross: I had a 3 piece heartstopper in 2018 and it was a superb bow. It had a stippled grip which I liked but there was one downside that I would correct if ever getting another; I curl my ring and pinky under when holding the bow. After a long shooting session the tops of those fingers would get rubbed pretty good lying against the stippling. Next bow with stippling would have that area smooth and only have the throat of the grip stippled. FWIW. Did I mention they are phenomenal bows?!

From: Ross Professional Bowhunters Society - Qualified Member
Date: 06-Apr-23

Thanks for the advice NBK. Something to consider If ever own one
