Me last October after trimming my beard. Have had a beard for over 50 years, except one time I shaved for my mother’s birthday. Can’t grow a full beard, it’s very thin and scraggly when long so I keep it trimmed every two months or so.

I'm not inclined to share my gray-bearded mug online.
But I have an old tabby cat who can be invisible at almost any time of the year. Of course her tawny gray fur pattern is part of that, but also her white underside defuses her shadow, wicking up the colors from the ground beneath...blending her shape with the ground.
It makes a big difference compared to spotting a cat who has a strong shadow defining it's form at all times.
Perhaps a gray beard marks the second rite of passage, where the young brash warrior becomes the wise, patient, stealthy hunter.
