I usually start a 5/8” above.

From: Crow#2
Date: 19-Dec-20

That makes me feel better cause that's where I'm at. I can not get the shaft to go nock high now just straight in.LOL

Stuart which would you move nuking point to make the arro nock go higher than shaft

5/8-inch is pretty common for a nock point height. 3/4 might work a little better for 3- under.

Thanks orion

Typically I shoot 5/8 for split and 3/4 for 3 under

It's not written in stone brace height and nock set is what works for you.

Crow -

How is the tiller set on that bow?

With those bows I set the tiller to 1/8" positive and the arrow is just above perpendicular to the string, the nocking point is above the arrow.

Viper out.

From: Crow#2

The tiller is even now.I can never remember but 1/8 positive means the measurement from string to limb is shorter or longer on bottom limb???

From: raghorn
Date: 19-Dec-20

Top limb is normally more than bottom

From: Crow#2
Date: 19-Dec-20

So example tiller on top limb is 7 1/4 bottom limb is 7 1/8

From: mahantango

Almost all are at 5/8". I shoot three under.

From: NY Yankee

Not yet, but I dont have all my bows wrung out yet either. 5/8 seems awfully high to me but everyone's set up is different. If you need it that way then so be it.

I do.

What I've found is that two nocking point work better than one no matter how high.

My first thoughts were the tiller.

From: Therifleman

Like Bowmania said, I use 2 nocking points. The measurement to the bottom of the top nocking point always ends up between 5/8" and 3/4" for me. I shoot 3 under. When tuning its better to start high and work your way down--- if things get better then get worse, you've likely gone too far.

When I was a kid , my dad had this thread from Herters. After you tie the knocking points you put a drop of this liquid on them and they turned to a plastic. Don't know what it was but it worked great. I'm. 68 now

Depends on shaft diameter. larger dia. means bottom of nock location point will be higher above 90deg. The arrow in picture is 2217.

1/2" to 3/4" is the standard range. That's a very good picture and text, perfect example.

If your nock set is above the arrow, then the diameter of the arrow will affect where its set, so will how you grip the, the string and tiller, what works for one may not work for someone else.

Finger pressure on the string too. That bottom finger pressure can really change things.

I don't know why but both of my bows like square and I shoot three under with a rest.
