Going to buy some nocks in bulk but I have never paid attention to what brand I shoot or what I like. Honestly do not know what I have on my arrows now I think they came from a garage sale.

What brand of nock do you prefer and why?

thanks for your input

Who sells those Mercury index nocks?

Jimbob, The Footed Shaft sells them.

Once again, Chrome lets a space in the url for some reason. Take the space out after the dash ater Speed.

I don't believe fs discount archery sells the mercury nocks anymore. I was on their website and clicked on the nock link and thirteen different nocks are available but the mercury nock wasn't there.

Bear Paw index nock. I like them better than anything else I've used. At less cost as well.

If you shoot both carbon and wood, I recommend a snap-on nock for the woods as the throat is about the same size as most carbon nock throats.

For a snap-on type, I prefer the AAE Z nock.

The Bohning Classic Index shown above is also a very good nock, but the throat is larger and requires a larger diameter serving than snap-on or carbon type nocks.

Nock fit on a string can be tended to very easily. If it's a bit loose, you just use some dental floss to increase serving diameter in the nock area. If it's too tight, you can open the throat of the nock.

I can remember when you just bought, or made a string then adapted to it. Have we become that intricate that we need exact dimensions just to shoot a bow? No...we haven't.

I vote Bohning Classic too.

I bought hundreds of Mercury nocks for my woods. I bought a couple hundred Bohning nocks in a couple different colors. Plus I like the AAE flo green nocks so I have a bunch of those. Now for carbons I use Bohning unless the nocks that come with the shafts are to my liking. As for string fit. I have the maker serve the string to fit Gold Tip nocks which covers most of the above. I will specify the Mercury nocks for my LB strings.

I only use skinny strings and the Traditional nocks from Kistom King work very well because their throat is a lot smaller than the classic.

I like Mercury and Bohning to.

Dealers have told me Mercury nocks are not being made anymore. Had to buy brown one last time because that's all they had.

Who actually made them anyway? I've tried to find the manufacturer but have not succeeded.

For wood arrows, I like these. They fit similar to my Easton Axis nock, so I can shoot wood or carbon with the same string.

All depends on the arrow for me. I try other nocks some times but prefer the snap knocks with the notch from Bohnning.

I've used Arizona Plasti-nocks for years and love them, but all I shoot are aluminum shafts.

I started using Bohning signatures on everything merely because I had a good supply and they fit the ID of my favorite carbons. I idn't want nock tightness varying from make to make so I replaced everything with them, as I don't build strings. Most string makers will serve to fit whatever you tell them that you use, but I'm anal enough to have that nock on everything. I'm sure there are others that will work equally as well.
