I just received my Hoyt Satori about 2 weeks ago. I got the 21" riser and the medium pro tour bamboo limbs in 40 lbs. To any who are considering this bow, it is truly the best traditional recurve that Hoyt has made in my opinion. We shot it thru the chrono with 373 grain Victory V Force 500 spine arrows with 145 grain screw in tips @ 188 fps. Maybe not as fast as some other offerings, but as smooth, quiet, and accurate as any recurve that I have ever shot. The adjustable center shot plate makes tuning super easy off the shelf. I normally shoot target bows with a flipper , plunger setup and I was extremely happy with my arrow flight almost right away. Chamberlain Ranch here I come. With a hotter string it might even get close to 200fps. Hoyt's carbon bamboo limbs are the real deal.

What was total cost her riser and limbs ( if I may ask )?

From: Daking
Date: 01-Mar-17

$1150 and that seems pretty steep but I think it will shoot with pretty much anything out there. I let several people shoot it at my archery club and everybody had a happy face. Shot this at the ATA and I knew I had to have it. I ordered as soon as I got back.

Are the pro tour bamboo limbs the same as the X Tour limbs? I have been looking at the Satori and perhaps some X Tour limbs with bamboo and carbon. thanks James

Can't wait for mine to arrive (although I had to opt for the "cheap" limbs- haha- for a total of $815 for the combo.)

Hopefully can get a good friend of mine to make me a custom string also.

Thanks for the quick review.

I've been waiting to hear some numbers and reviews on those X Tours. Yours is the first; I'm eager to hear more. Hoyt advertises them to be the fasted limbs they've ever produced.

I've shot F7s and Quattros and they are both smooth and fast limbs. To exceed them would be something.

I need one of those 'hot' strings. What's the brand? A SBD won't do anything near 12 FPS.

will Buffalo limbs work on the new riser?

From: Barber

No, the buffalo uses formula limbs, the satori is ILF .

I see the first one in the classifieds here today:)

Wow! That didn't take long.

Got to hold one today and if not too cold tomorrow I'll shoot it. People are right, the stock grips suck. He'll probably go with a Jäger Best 2.0 low. He shot 10 arrows today and he said it shoots great. He went with him own sideplate, not the factory set up.

What grips can you get for this bow ? i would love it to feel more like my elite grip.

There's a guy on ebay that sells wood grips that fit all the time. Here's a link:

The Satori uses the same grip that fits the new style Hoyt risers like the Nexus, Helix, Eclipse, GMX, Excel/Grand Prix, Horizon/Grand Prix, Formula Excel/Pro, Formula RX, GPX, HPX, ION X, Prodigy, Prodigy XT. Here's a link to Jager grips that fit the Satori:

Of course you could do like I did. I took my stock grip to the drum sander and altered it to the same dimensions as the Jager Best 2.0 medium. Now it fits perfectly for me. :)

If the one in the classifieds was a 17" riser I'd be buying it. Pretty darn good deal.

I am going to shoot one on Monday . the local bow shop is a Hoyt dealer and he called me today to let me know he has a satori in for people to try out. So I told him I would come by Monday , he has an indoor range, and run some arrows through it. I will probly spend half the day shooting it. I used to have a Hoyt buffalo and liked it but really interested to see how the Satori compares to the Buffalo.

I called Jager and left a message and also emailed in website. No answer. No response. Voicemail says "I am screening my calls, leave a message". At this point I will try anything other than a Jager.

Luis,

I've always gotten a reply from the folks at Jager. He states on the website that they only reply once every week or so. I've ordered several grips from them off the website and have always gotten them within a week.

Don't be so swift to write them off. Their grips of top notch... IMHO.

btw... I got my Jager Best 2.0 medium grip in the mail today; I love it. My offer to you still stands.

Another one in the classifieds this morning!

It looks like the Hoyt Origin was a short lived venture. IMHO, proprietary limbed bows are a hard sale matched against ILF, and DAS.

From: Steve Milbocker
Date: 05-Mar-17

The Satori is ILF Twisted Branch

From: Twisted Branch
Date: 05-Mar-17

I know Steve. I think that's why it is way more popular than the Origin, which had a $1,100 or $1,200 price tag. The Satori took off like a wild fire. Hahaha Especially the Buckskin.

From: Twisted Branch
Date: 05-Mar-17

The Origin sorta stalled out, from what I've read.

Good deal in classifieds. Not everyone likes redheads either. Good rig for sure.

Jim I haven't forgotten about it. The mail is slow..

Jager is the ultimate. Email reply so aren't quick as I think Cindy answers on the weekends. Once you get by that delay your concerns quickly disappear. I've purchased 10 plus kf the 2.0. There like and old friend. Rooty

I shot that one I mentioned above today. It was a 19" with older Hoyt carbon limbs and it is a really good shooting riser. A little more weight than the Titan III. Dead in hands and shot really good for me.

From: Barber
Date: 06-Mar-17

Ok, I spent 4 hours today shooting the Hoyt Satori at my local Hoyt dealer. The one he has for a demo is the 19 inch riser with 45lb limbs, 62 inch bow. The bow has great cast . The weight of the bow is good , little heavy but stabilizes nicely in hand. The Grip I did NOT like, thought the Buffalo has a much better grip. So after shooting it a while I asked if I could take the grip off. The shop owner took the Grip off and man the bow felt MUCH better. I think if you take the bow and remove the grip and maybe put some wrap around the grip area or maybe some side plates on the grip area it would be much nicer. That odd angled bulky factor grip in my opion was terrible ! But that's just what I think. Anyway over all nice bow, I may order one with 17 inch riser for a 58 inch hunting bow. Going to go back and play with his demo bow some more first .

So who makes "hot strings" that can add some serious performance. Some of these guys are wanting like 30 bucks for a string these days and they are all about the same as the strings from a few years ago. For what some string makers are wanting these strings better give like 10+ fps. LOL

From: reddogge Professional Bowhunters Society - Qualified Member
Date: 07-Mar-17

If those same string makers would offer a money back guarantee on their strings improving fps by x % that would separate the men from the boys.
