Is it that time of the years again?
Retired director of research laboratory and now a writer, specializing in American Indian themes with emphasis on screenplays. Still make $2.18 a year - before taxes.
Also, I "don't know" any Navy Chiefs (of any great shooting skills. ~:^)), I only know "real chiefs" of several tribes, none of those token ones! Turtles are a respected clan. I hate to diminish their status. Welcome home John from a long tour away from your family. Thanks for your service and dedication to the freedom of our country. See you tonight at the KB Rod and Gun Club meeting.
Aloha and Aho,
Mike

Tom Davis--I attended the "Learning and the Brain" conference in Boston last November and have developed a significant interest in neurology. Many of the top Harvard people spoke there as well as some they brought in from around the country. Are you familiar with these conference sessions for educators?
I've read some books by Jensen and Sylwester, but would like to keep learning. Do you have a web site? I would like to e-mail you this summer if you wouldn't mind. TL

Mike,
If you need any good ideas, I'd really like to see a movie on Company 'B' and 'K' of the First Michigan Sharpshooters; Co. B had two Indians (my great grandfather and his half-brother) & Co. K was entirely Anishnabeg. A good book on it was: "These Men Have Seen Hard Service The First Michigan Sharpshooters in the Civil War" by Raymond Herek.

Now before you guys go off... let me explain.
I am retired military with no kids left at home. I got a tidy, if small, military pension and it suits my needs just fine. I also have a couple of income properties that supplilment my goofing-off budget and my residence is paid for long ago. Money was never a big priority with me, so I do as I please about 95% of the time.

Except for the cattle rancher, it looks like I'm the only farmer on the Wall. That even a worst percentage than even in the real world! I'm the fifth generation on what is now a 400 grain farm.
Since agriculture has hit such desparate times, I've also run a business for a number of years. It's turned in to something very signifcant as time has passed.
I do distribution and serve as a Sales Manager for a large environmental technology company. I specialize in residential and commercial air and water purification. It's a lot of fun, and I get to really help people. I even have three nationally known bowyers as commercial clients! As a little sideline that will probably send my post up in flames, I sell a 2WD motorocycle/ATV called a "Rokon" (to be used only in an ethical and responisble manner!!!).
I be glad to give my website if anyone would like to look at doing some business together or check out what I market.
That's my living, and I'm stickin' to it!

I guess I had better weigh-in I am a full time farmer and rancher in southwestern Nebraska. My farm is dryland only and mother nature has certainly put the emphasis on "dry". This is as dry as I can remember in my 53 years. Many people don't understand that farming is a way of life, more than a job it is who you are. Very similar to bowhunting. So when mother nature bucks you off, you get up and try again. I really enjoy this site because it can be a great stress reliever(especialy the humorus ones). StateLine Rich (SLRich).

Still farming and ranching. Still chasing cows and doing my cow work horseback. Not involved with archery production any longer, but am part of a four person team that designed and built a longbow that smashed a world record in Flight this year. Trying to stay active at almost 85 is a challenge some days! Too stubborn to change much. Semi retired and brilliant at that when I get to just relax.

Wasn't on here back in 2000. Back then I would have been a machine operator/machinist, doing a little programming, but mainly set-up and run. After 34 + years at same place, they moved away, so started over in 2005 for new company and retired in 2015. Full time care giver for my wife from then till I lost here this passed July. Now "fully" retired, but starting to "fall apart", worst part of getting older! Enjoy shooting my longbows and making a few arrows as needed, going to start trying string making? Have an osage stave I've been "working" on for awhile, so now with more time I should get serious?

Army first then hired in with TVA (power company) in 1970, worked in power operations for 30 years and worked my was up all the positions from assistant control room operator to shift supervisor over the years.
Got put out to pasture at 52 when the company downsized. I had taken a big interest in retirement funds since day one so I went to the house to be a bow maker and manage large tracts of hunting land.
20 years later I am still an occasional bow maker and only manage my 4 acres of land but life is good.

I'm not sure I played the first time. I spent 9 years 7 months in the Army, then 10 years 4 months in the Coast Guard. So I get a small pension. I worked a few fun jobs in the Reno area when I got out. Came to Colorado and worked maintenance on ski lifts at Vail for five years. I quit Vail in 2010, moved from Leadville to just north of Westcliffe and enjoying being back in retirement.

Funeral Director for 6 years out of college, realized I didn't want to be on call and embalming bodies in the middle of the night for the rest of my life. I'm the safety director and compliance officer for a pipeline maintenance company. I'm currently 47 and plan to retire when I'm 55.
I'd like to tip my cap to all the law enforcement officers, firefighters, teachers and veterans both active and retired. You all should make a million a year.
Congrats to all you happily retired folks, I'm jealous and not ashamed to admit it!

Retired almost three years. I keep renewing my HVAC license, but not sure why. Aside from what I was able to stash away for retirement, I figure all other working people pay me to stay home, on social security. The "honeydo" list is never ending, and when I think about how I seldom dip into my tool bag, stuff breaks and I'm on it.
As some of you might know, God and I are in a "work exchange" program. I spend a good amount of time in prayer and Bible study, and he instills a sense of purpose for me to still be here.

I've been retired from Ford Motor Company's Louisville Assembly Plant since Oct.1st,2003. I put in right at 32 years before I left. While I don't miss the place, I do miss seeing a lot of the guys and gals I worked with. There were times we were working so much overtime that you spent more waking hours with your co-workers than you did with your family. Made a lot of friends there over the years.

Power plant operator for a Coal, Gas, Hydro, and solar power plant, 12 hour swing shifts for 28 years. On the rare occasion that I do get more than three hours of good REM sleep , I morph into a big name porn star, until the alarm clock goes off.
