You archers that shoot a lot do you leave your bow strung up and at the ready?or unstrung and of course away from little ones. Do you leave it on a horizontal rack with the string up or down or on a nail peg vertical hanging?etc. and/or do you use a case? I want to be able to get to my bow quickly if I need it for varmint stumps, targets, coyotes. Just want to hang it safely and ready sitting on go.

longbows string very fast and easy, some recurves are a pain, at least in my eyes.

I keep at least one bow strung all the time. All are glass laminated bows, and whether it is a Longbow or recurve depends on my mood at the time.

Glass laminated bow --no problem. Self bow never leave strung. Hang it any way you want that doesn't put any stress on a limb. Don't leave standing on end. >>>----> Ken

My bows are not stored in a climate controlled environment so they are never left strung. Whether longbow or recurve, less than a minute to string them.

All good comments, plus never leave it where it'll be in direct sunlight (any length of time) no matter how you hang it.

I never leave them strung, but that is just my personal choice. Bows with cross weave glass backs will take set when left strung, and break at times. I know that for a fact as my son leaves his bows strung.

I keep a solid fiberglass strung and hanging in the shed for when i want to fling a couple when i take out the trash or get something out of the deep freezer (my wife wonders what takes me so long out there) all my other bows are unstrung, some hanging vertical, some horizontal.

I keep one or two strung, it doesn’t really matter much as long as it’s not hot.

About half my bows are strung and hanging from a wooden peg, couple laying horizontal and strung on deer and elk mounts in my living room. Just about always have a bow, with arrows handy ready to shoot at a moments notice. :)

Unless I have to take it down for transport, or maintenance, my go to recurve stays stung all the time.
The bows I am not using regularly, especially selfbows are always unstrung when not in use.

Unless actively hunting for a few days, unstring and hang on peg vertically. I just feel better about not leaving tension on them.
