Last couple years have been so busy work wise it’s been wearing me out. Finding it tough to get off the couch when I have the chance but last couple Sunday afternoons I got to get in the woods. Having a new Wes Wallace Royal itching to get played with made it easier. I have a 700 acre river bottom public ground 3 minutes from my house.

You’re fortunate to have that much area near you to play on and so close. Tell us about your new bow. I have 2 Royals myself. Mine were calling to me because I have been shooting my new Black Widow. So I shot them today at clubs indoor range. They are so quiet and light in the hand.

Sometimes the arrow doesn’t make it all the way to the stump

No broke or lost arrows so I’ll consider it a success

M60- it’s 66” and 51@29. All Osage limbs and riser with Rosewood overlays. Also have one in same specs only with all Yew limbs and Cocobolo riser

The area gets a lot of attention during bow season so I really don’t hunt there, even though it’s overrun with deer. There’s a few thousand acres of big woods and hills just a bit farther that I do hunt.

Good pics of good times! I'd done more stumping in past 2 months than I had in many years, but I've slacked off, but it's hard to beat! Good looking bow!

we go just about every day -just to get the Dog out and to burn the BUZZ out of him with the heat been going early and staying out of the woods (ticks gottten bad)

deer flys just starting to show up

I’d love to go every day. Maybe when I retire…. I was surprised I only found one tick on me

Eric— I’m retired- retired early to be a caregiver but have a great farm really close by and can steal away for about a 2 mile rove just about every day

Or take the dog down to the river for a swim

That’s what keeps me going and sane

Andy Man- That’s awesome! Im jealous:) I have a family farm about 40 minutes away, that’s where I hunt mostly

Nice land and pics. Better than any professional sporting event and better for mental and physical health too. Thanks for sharing.

Nice looks like fun. I have a Wallace Royal ordered. Yours looks nice.

Well, I just got done with a turkey season here in WI. I hunted areas that always had birds, gone? No sign, gobbles, sightings, 0. It turned into 3 days of stump shooting, so no a total fail. The forest areas I hunted have trails with limitless stumping opportunity's.

It does a body good, let alone what it does for our souls. It's that escape from all life's troubles albeit just for that short time spent out there. It's without the pressure of hunting but imagining it.. flinging arrows at this stump or that leaf sharpening our skills.

Foraging for edibles, shed hunting, scouting for next season. With a dog along makes it that much more special.

Good stuff there Eric... nice stumping grounds.

Ottertails pretty well summer it up best for me too! The turkey scouting and hunting for me was about a flop! But the gain to my enjoyment of freedom, shooting, especially Deer scouting for me, squirrel scouting for my brother this fall, perfect spring woods, few hickory chickens, etc, only thing better would be, yes have a dog to join me! But the time was priceless! Hadn't been in about ?2weeks?, so Monday morning early, was getting on my 4w to go. Twisted my knee bad! So, another wait, but I'll be fine shortly. And good seeing pics to remind me of how good it is! Now, hopefully find some sheds, run a few cameras, little more deer scouting. And start putting to use, 3 arrows more often when I decide to shoot, like Nate suggested! Soon!
