Can anyone tell me the spine of Bear Kodiak .409 Supreme fiberglass arrows? They are 29” long. I don’t think it’s as simple as 409 spine. I shot these as a young teenager out of a 45lb Bear recurve.

It's not a 409 spine, otherwise a 407 would be stiffer and that's not so. The lower the number the softer the spine. I shoot 7's from 40 to 50 pounds and 8's will fit there as well. 9's are pretty stiff for a 45# bow unless you are using modern string on a recurve then it will be borderline stiff. Bear didn't go lower than #7's but you can find other fiberglass arrows down to #3 set up for target weights. The 40 part of 409 is a Bear designation and really meaningless as it applies to spine.
