I have slipnockitis. Just used the same .020 serving thread for tied nocks. Ooops. Any suggestions for a good diameter that will seat well and not move are welcome.

Serving thread dia. depends on the string material and number of strands in the string, plus the nock being used, not all nocks have the same size groove. Yes dental floss can be used but that is a band-aid, not a fix.

Dental tape. It's wider and flat compared to regular floss. I also like it for building up strings for proper nock fit if needed because it's flat and sits on string better for me.

So smaller diameter than .020 would work then?

I run the thread through some hotmelt before I tie it on. Warm it up to move it, warm it up to set it.

I use braided fishing line and polyester upholstry thread as well.
Both will outlast about anything else.
With the braided fishing line I have multiple test lines that I can choose from.I very very lightly coat with super glue with my finger.Lasts forever and stays in place and is slick as well.

Bowstring that I wax first. After I am sure it’s where I want it I run a flame under it. Wax melts enough to set it and keep in place. I have used fletch glue as well. I have read however Super glue can weaken the serving material?

I use BCY Nock Tying Thread with a nail knot. It's .020 but I use it over .021 center servings with excellent results. 7 or 8 turns and it will not slip, but I can still break it loose if I need to screw it up or down and the tag ends melt nicely. I also use it over fatter servings up to .032 just being careful not to cinch it so tight it cuts down between the serving loops underneath.

D97 string material. Wears well, melts easily on the tag ends.
