Hey everyone,

I've been looking at finally getting a Bear takedown. I've been eyeballing 3Rivers and see Left Hand models in stock and I shoot lefty. Good for me.

B riser with #1 limbs to get a 60inch 30# bow.

Which of the two risers has the longer sight window?

Which riser has the sight window that most resembles the one on the one piece Super Kodiak?

B Riser. I like the larger sight window.

I never had a A, but I got the B with #1 limbs, 45# and really like it!

In the picture above, which riser is it that is nestled right up against the upside down Christmas trees at the top of the picture? The one up against the upside down Christmas tree has a shorter sight window than the one below it.

I've owned and shot the wood A & B and I prefer the A. I also have several A and B mag TD bows and prefer the A riser on them too. If one wanted to shoot with sights the B or the C would be the best choice. Between the wood risers and Mag risers I would rather shoot the Mag risers anytime. I sold my wood riser td's but still have several Mags.

I have a B riser with #1 limbs for a 60in bow. I really like it.

I have the B riser with #1 limbs #45 pound, that very closely resembles the Super Kodiak. It is very smooth to shoot.Don't think that you will be disappointed with that combination.

My first recurve was a Super Kodiak. Hardly ever shot it, so I sold it. I wish I still had it. Thanks for all the replies, they've been very helpful.

The longer the riser the longer the site window will be, its generally common sense.

The word I'm looking for here is ....ANYWAY, can't wait to get the bow and finally be part of the Bear Takedown club. Thanks all!

You might as well get both A and B. Once you get started on Bear TDs you’ll want another, then another.......

Like everyone else said...sorta...I have and shoot an A and a B...I pretty much shoot instinctively... I shoot the "B" better and I'm sure it's the longer sight window. I WANT to shoot the "A" better because I like the look and feel...

For what it's worth, the sight window on the Super K is almost two inches longer than the "B" riser T/D.

I have one of the new 50th anniversary takedowns with a set of 50# limbs to match and B Mag riser with a couple sets of limbs. I thought I would "need" the B's bigger sight window, but I picked up a buddies A riser bow at our indoor league and it didn't give me any trouble. Once they start making the new aluminum risers in LH I will get one. I would also like a Shedua Super K and those seem impossible to find in LH.

By the way, I like the Mag riser better, but those new 50th Anniversary limbs are quick. Much slimmer at the tips and very snappy!

How do you guys like the A riser and #1 limbs as a shorter blind, brush bow etc. for a 28 inch draw.

From: Boker
Date: 09-Apr-21

I have both and shoot both equally as good , the length of the sight window isn’t a deciding factory for me but for some guys it is.

I have a longer draw and both risers with #3 limbs work great.

A riser with #3 is 60”.- B riser with #3 is 64”

I have had a good share of Bear T/D’s and believe you will be happy with whatever combo you go with.

I just decided to put my new and narrow #3 limbs on my beautiful birthmark "A" riser... it is a hard to beat combination...

From: Selden Slider

I prefer a short riser with longer limbs. I have an "A" riser with #3 limbs giving a 60" bow. Longer limbs usually provide a smoother draw than shorter limbs. Nothing wrong with short limbs I just prefer them longer. Frank
