So happy to announce that May 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 2021 we will host an traditional archery tournament at the historic Camp Takula in Chester, TX. The camp and the IBO will sponsor this favorite annual tournament that we all have loved over the years. Proceeds will benefit the kids camp and the IBO kids events. It will be very close to the previous tournament format with additional games and festivities for all to enjoy. More info and flyer to come. You will be able to camp or stay in the lodges on site. Cafeteria will be open. I will get all the specifics in the next few days. Just wanted to get the date out there so you can make plans to attend this great event. So excited to add this back to the schedule for traditional archery in Texas!!!

First class $25. Each additional class thereafter $15. Fun rounds are $10. Youth 17 and under $10. 12 and under shoot free.

I haven’t made it to a IBO shoot yet, hoping I’ll be able to come to this one! For the team event, can you bring a team? If my brother and I wanted to shoot together as a team, would that be allowed?

It is a always a great shoot at Chester. This year was short notice for everyone as we just happened to secure the camp by chance. Glad you all are coming to join us. We have always loved this shoot.

will all the rain in Texas effect the Chester shoot

I'm waxing my bows and taking rubber boots just in case. Looks like the rain will be out and done by then. Keeping my fingers crossed. I've already been let down twice from shoots being canceled. I hunt in the rain? As long as there's no danger from lightning we're good?

First day was awesome. Congrats go out to Bisch as the winner of the Selfbow Shootout sponsored by Arvin Weaver. Bisch shot great in a come from behind victory to take the $200. Team event was won by Corey Bailey and myself. I was fortunate to draw him as my team member as he was stellar and solid. We had a super time. Thanks to all the archers who braved the weather and came Out to support the tournament. Can’t wait for tomorrow.

2nd day with no rain. Bisch is tearing it up after that win last night in the Arvin Weaver Selfbow Shootout. He came thru in the BoW Up 4 Bucks tribute to Bob Lee with the big win! Also Corey Bailey follows up his team event win, winning the Last Man Standing tonight. Had so much fun teaching the kids, one little boy said “ I’m just so happy”. That’s archery for you. It was a great day in Chester!!!

This shot was very tough it was from a separate stake off to the side of the regular stake and called the Master Stake. Hit in the vitals for plus 5! We all had to accept the challenge but there were some arrows ricocheted off trees lol
