Spray your limbs with either grey or some light color! The pattern will show up much better! I've done about 10 bows and all have turned out great! Except one, left the limbs black and put my skins on and you couldn't hardly make out the pattern! Good Luck!

What bobbinhood said. If the limbs are dark it will make the skins dark & not show the color. Especially Copperheads. I like a light tan or pale yellow. >>>---> Ken

As far as veneers IMO the best to show off Copperhead is Yew, given that you are dealing with solid glass I would paint them a similar color. I had a BW LIW LB with the split vertical bamboo limbs which were brown. I put Copperhead skins on them and they did not look good. Benefit from my experience.

For Copperhead skins, if you paint brown limbs this color you will be happy with the results.

Well disregard that color, it was the color of Yew but obviously not anymore.

Copperheads will be dark over dark limbs. Light yellow or Gold they stand out.
Timbers look good on Black limbs.

I put dark brown copperhead skins on a shakespeare kaibab and they looked fine, and they turned out great.

Dark if you like it ok if not then yo have o color. With coopers I think gold looks good under.

If you want copperhead to pop paint the limbs with a coat of copper metallic. If youre using texas ratsnake or cottonmouth silver metallic.
