3@30 with my Harvey Archery Mongoose 56"52# hybrid. Barred are Doug fir, white fletch is a chundoo. All tapered, all wearing 300gr tips, all about 700gr arrow weight.

It doesn't seem to matter how long of a break I take from this bow(a month this time), every time I pick it up it's fire. Further evidence that I guess I'm a longbow guy now. Pretty sure this will be my elk bow this year.

Y'all have a great holiday weekend.

Well, with all the banter on the #35 bear thread, I decided I should take a shot at a bear, so I took this one from the “close” stake at the club.

As I was settling in to take this shot, I noticed that little light-colored diagonal patch that looked to be in the kill zone and there was kind of a dark hole at the top of it, so I decided to make it a precision shot and see if I could go for that. Pretty happy with how that worked out.

Stepped it off at 16 yards; pretty decent down-hill, so similar to a not-too-high treestand.

Really nice shooting fellas.

I decided to do a Easter Sunday First Shot and use a very special bow I haven't spent much time with or shot in a while. Warrick Harvey of Harvey Archery surprised me a bit back with a one off bow that is a departure from his normal build style. It is a slightly forward and very classic style handled recurve with a bit more aggressive curve to it. The handle is also laminated, something I've never seen him do. It is called the Ravin and it is the only one he'll ever make. A very short feeling 58" and strong pulling 51#. I shot two chundoo and two firs from 25 yards and it really is a great shooter.

Y'all have a great Easter
