Spring gobbler turkey season has started in some states and just around the corner in others. What are you guys going to hunt with this year ?
I'm hunting with my Frankenbow. Bear Black Bear compound riser with Samick Sage recurve limbs, 62#@28", 2018 Aluminum Arrows with Magnus broadheads and a Game String Tracker.

I'll be out with my Galaxy Ember 55#'s, carbon arrows tipped with Tuffhead Meatheads.
I ordered a string tracker and should have it in a few days. I'm also going to try some decoys this season.
I was never much into turkey hunting but I'd love to kill a gobbler with my recurve. I know I'll have fun trying either way.
Best of luck and be safe to all the turkey hunters!

Probably this one, 42# Shakespeare Sierra, 52", and likely cedar arrows and Bear Razorheads. Not a real serious turkey hunter but you never know what will blunder in front of you at times. :)

My 50"52# Harvey Archery Ferret that I have been shooting mostly lately to prepare for turkey season. Some doug fir shafts with 250gr VPAs. I got myself a Killsuit Sapper this year as well and a 5'x10' pice of camo net to make a quick ground blind. I'm finally back at work though so may not get as many outings as I hoped I would.

The main reason I don't take the 12 ga over/under is because I may kill one with it. :) Been there and done that and I much prefer a nice farm raised turkey for eating purposes. I'm not much of a thread with the bow and am quickly distracted by mushrooms at that time of year.

I think I’m gonna use my 7 Lakes long night though as it’s a little shorter than the Hills I have. Might use a Hidden hunter blind a few times so wanna be fresh with the bow incase I use the blind.

It turns out I won't be using my Galaxy chasing those gobblers in a few weeks. I ordered a string tracker and it screws into a stabilizer bushing. My Galaxy doesn't have a stabilizer bushing but....My trusty Kodiak Magnum does.

I'm sure you've already tried a few shots with that tracker, they can make an impact difference. They are just the ticket for turkeys at close range for sure. The gobblers have been posturing for awhile now, showing off for the ladies.

George, yes I have and thanks for the tip! I won't shoot at game past 20 yards and everything tests great out to there. The spool inside the tracker does rattle a little on the shot but not enough to worry about on a turkey. I'm planning on setting up my decoys at around 10 yards.
I haven't made it out to the farm I'm planning to hunt yet this spring to check the turkey activity but I have talked to the farmer and he's been seeing them daily. I'm hoping to make it out this weekend for a little scouting. I've been seeing quite a few strutters on my travels for work.

Frank thanks for the tip! I always have an eye on that field behind the house. I've seen a few birds back there this year and will likely hunt there as well. The neighbor killed a giant gobbler back there about 3 years ago Jason and I had been after. 10" beard and 22 pounds. I was happy he got him and actually heard him shoot. He killed him on the other side of the runway.

48# BW PMA is my choice. My season has been in since Monday. Tomorrow is my last day. I shot right over one today at 8 yards. I regret to say that I hit one good last year only to have it fly over to the next property and get blasted along with my blind. Luckily the zipper was stuck so I was still in it. The next day I hit one a little high and didn't find it. Needless to say, my confidence is down and I thought about taking a shot gun tomorrow. However while shooting tonight I remembered a time from many years ago. A guy was having a similar conversation with the late great Jerry Pierce. He asked for Jerry's advice on which to take a gun or bow. Jerry simply said "if you want a turkey that bad, go to Kroger."
